No. Probably best to know the facts before guessing.

They only person we know who has definitely confirmed to be ducking AJ is ***** whyte.

Whats his other options? Wilder has no reason to fight him again, even if he does, for what? Another 500k? Everything points to it to be being a duck. Joshua and Hearn both said first opponent came to mind was Ortiz, it brings views, sells better then miller as its more intriguing, but we aint heard nothing from team ortiz except that hearn said there man wont be ready. I seriously hope its secretly getting made and hearn is just throwing other names out there to throw people off but for me it doesnt look like ortiz wants it
Good post. I’ve been excitedly waiting for Ortiz to cement his position as the June 1 opponent by coming out with some statement of intent.

If he and his people really wanted the fight no doubt he would come out firing “I’m going to Destroy AJ’s career on June 1” that would build popular demand for the fight and if Hearn or AJ went another way they would be slaughtered by the public.

But we haven’t heard anything. The only people who actually seem to want the fight are AJ and Hearn, and this despite Ortiz coming out with that belated statement after AJ signed to fight Miller “I think you have the balls to fight me etc.”

Ortiz needs to locate his own balls now. Now doubt it’s some political reasons that we’re not seeing it but the guy is close to retirement so I don’t see any reason why he should keep faith with what Haymon is telling him. Why turn down a massive payday and the chance to write his name into history, the money is laid out in front of you!

Andy should stay in his PBC lane.

Any Ruiz will be a better fight than Manuel Charr, Pulev, Micheal Hunter and even Baby Miller, MAKE IT HAPPEN Hearn. And he’ll bring his Mexican fans to the table

Hunter has been waiting on Hearn to make the announcement. No need for Hunter to have been out here lobbying for the fight when he's signed to Hearn & has already spoken to him.

But yesterday when news came out Ruiz was being considered he did start making his case for the fight over Ruiz

People saying Al blocked Ortiz taking the fight, why isn't he stopping Ruiz?

I like Hunter, but Am's is Am's. It's like people talking about stopping a guy in sparring. Meaningless.

That being said, apparently the six fighter "short list" is

Andy Ruiz Jr, Luis Ortiz, Michael Hunter, Trevor Bryan, Agit Kabayel, and Manuel Charr. Hoping it's one of the first two, though my bet would be one of the last three. (I'd be willing to bet on Trevor Bryan actually, American "heavyweight champion" and Don King is his promoter.

                  Actually, yeah. It'll be Bryan.

Ruiz just signed with PBC, he's not under protection program yet.

Maybe because Ruiz isn't Wilder's best win?

It's clear that team Wilder are focused on beating AJ in the media, not in the ring.
