Don't think it's crazy to envision a scenario where Hunter out-boxes AJ to a decision win (whether he gets that win on the cards is another question)
Agreed. People aren't familiar enough with Hunter to know this though.

No way do they take on a south paw as a replacement. Even if Joshua wants it his team are smarter than that.

Plus if they do make that fight it's a bigger fight they originally had planned.

But I'm still rooting for Hunter to get the fight.

The AJ camp probably have a few fighters lined up in case their first choice doesn't happen. They really want to keep the day and venue.

After Big Baby laid such an awful egg on everyone, maybe they should just reschedule this event. AJ should fight Ortiz for his US debut to make it large enough and legit enough for DAZN, but can't blame Ortiz if they want a full training camp. Almost everyone else is a case of desparation to keep the event.

If desparation wins out I'd rather see Efe Agba Of course he's not completely ready but he has the size, skills, heart, and future promise to put the wow back in the event. Otherwise, ... it's not AJ/hearn/DAZN's fault but ... just reschedule and get a credible opponent ()

If this is true, Ruiz has hit the lottery. Inactive for ages then walks straight into an AJ fight?

how is it bigger? dont be a boxingscene bubble boy. ortiz is stuffed away on undercards same as miller. difference is miller is an american from new york and ortiz is some old cuban guy. remember you have to sell to casuals not boxingscene nerds.

reschedule it why? people weren't buying for miller and they almost sold out. people wouldn't be buying it cause ortiz is the opponent. casuals dont care about either of them.

Yeah it’s dumb for anyone to ask them to “Reschedule” lol, they have sold a lot of tickets on Joshua’s name. His opponent is irrelevant apart from being American. And if Joshua doesn’t fight on June 1st that would be 9 months since his last fight, for someone who is meant to be active that isn’t great.

They should do what they are doing now, get someone in the ring. And honour the June 1st date, Ortiz is the main name. And hopefully they decides for him and allow him to take the fight. If not Hunter and Ruiz are also good choices.
