Andy Ruiz vs. Joshua rumored for June 1st

I'm not sure how popular Ruiz is among the Mexican fans. Can they respect someone who looks like a slob even if he's Mexican? I'm not sure his appeal is very high.

He may not be that popular now but like Sicko says below, they're going to get behind this.

Mexicans rarely fight for the HW title. Not many compete in that weight class. You know they're tuning in for Jacobs/Canelo. Ruiz is a good way to get them to sign up one more month. I understand why they're looking at him. Hunter is a way tougher sell than Ruiz. Now instead of just doing interviews on ESPN. You're doing interviews on ESPN DePortes, Univision, Azteca.....I understand what they're doing.

If you think Mexicans are not going to tune in and subscribe to watch and support Andy attempt to make history then you're CRAZY! This might prove to be a good move actually!

I'm sorta split on thinking Hearn loves Allen & has made him some sorta vanity project like he says or that he secretly hates Allen & is trying to get him severely injured or killed in a boxing match. This is total bs. Ruiz is trying to talk his way into the fight and failing. There is a reason why Hearn has announced Hrgovic's opponent for May 25 and not Hunter's. Its going to be Joshua vs Hunter.

Ruiz would be a solid opponent, though I don't see him lasting, not enough defense and way too easy of a target for AJ. Still think Hunter is the frontrunner and that fight worries me a bit as an AJ fan. Hunter's movement and boxing ability could provide some problems for AJ, especially as a late notice opponent. Don't think it's crazy to envision a scenario where Hunter out-boxes AJ to a decision win (whether he gets that win on the cards is another question)

Lookin back on his tweet from last week he says next week. I guess i just assumed it was Monday

We have now received news from VADA that Jarrell Miller has now failed a second seperate test for a further substance. AJ’s June 1 opponent will be announced next week - if you don’t think you can beat him clean then delete my number!
