What a sad state boxing has became. A fighter literally doesn't give a damn about fighting some roided up cheat? GGG career has been on the downslide since he chased money and that alone, granted he was robbed back to back against Canelo, but its besides the point! A cheater shouldn't be awarded a rematch at all the titles it makes an absolute mockery of the sport.

You would think that Canelo would like to beat ggg without controversy with or without a title. With that being said, there are other fights that both should take instead and none of those opponents should be named Rolls.

I don’t consider myself a fan of either guy. But I’ve cheered for Canelo in both their fights. But I think his stance here is complete and utter horse****. Especially when you look at the fact that he dropped a belt when GGG was his mandatory because he wasn’t gonna be forced into that fight. So obviously, the belts aren’t that important to Canelo. Canelo simply knows that there’s nearly a ten year age gap between he and GGG. And the longer he waits to fight him again, the more favorable it will be for him.

That said, it’s hard for me to feel sorry for GGG because he’s that one that used his little “all the belts” crusade when it was convenient for him. And that’s proven to be complete and utter horse**** in itself. The belts only mattered when GGG had to take a mandatory that nobody wanted to see. Or when a guy like Mr Ward’s name game up. GGG wasn’t worried about belts when he was calling out Floyd, who was a welterweight. He didn’t care about belts when he fought Kell Brook, who was a welterweight. And he doesn’t care about belts now.

I think Canelo was just hoping Golovkin fought Andrade so his schedule would become a bit easier.

With Golovkin taking on a nobody it essentially makes Canelo’s road tougher. Instead of one of Andrade or Golovkin being eliminated Canelo most likely will have to go through both of them now.

I expect Canelo vs. Andrade in September, Canelo vs. a nobody in December in Mexico, and Canelo vs. GGG 3 in May of 2020.

And all of that is assuming Canelo beats Jacobs, which isn’t guaranteed.

There is no way this fight isn't going to happen. Both guys make the most possible money by fighting the other guy. DAZN has invested heavily in both fighter so there will be a big push for it to happen. Then there is the matter of pride. Both guys want a definite victory over the other man.

FACT 1: Canelo makes HUGE money, with or without Golovkin

FACT 2: Canelo said he wants to unify, and will fight whoever has a title

FACT 3: Golovkin was offered Charlo, for a guaranteed shot at Canelo..... but as-is usual with a threat, Golovkin passed

FACT 4: Golovkin selected yet another complete no-hoper

FACT1 + FACT2 + FACT3 + FACT4 =

* Canelo will do whatever he wants
* Golovkin (as usual) has done nothing to earn a shot at Canelo
* you are far more confident than I am, that there will be a trilogy

I doubt that fight will happen over money

the super-entitled Golovkin, who has done nothing whatsoever in the middleweight division except follow Canelo around looking for a handout..... will likely demand close to the 45% that Canelo paid him last time
