Why would Tank fight Gamboa? Pointless fight in my opinion. Gamboa has done nothing to deserve this shot.

      Re

Gamboa doesn't have the chin to withstand Davis' power. TKO 3

Fortuna would have been my first choice. I'm fine with this fight, though, as a 135 debut for Davis (he's going up, and seasoning, heading for Loma). He should just move up permanently. Say bye to 130.

Gamboa, although past his prime, brings name value and could be tricky in there for more than a few rounds. He has two losses, one of them coming against Crawford.

Berchelt is with Arum. Farmer is no competition and a waste of time.

Better than staying inactive and on the shelf.

And while there are numerous fights I'd rather see Tank in I get it from the enhancing the Tank product angle to all this. That said I do hope they make a bigger legit fight for Tank this year. Dude needs a real mfer challenge to focus on to help prevent him from going sideways in some sorta dumb ass reason outta the ring that f#cks up the blueprint more than a L in the ring will.
I agree. This fight is a step in the right direction. The kid is still young and needs more time to grow and develop. However, he can use a bigger name opponent though in order to keep him focused and on the straight narrow path.

Which is exactly why he needs more time to grow and develop before challenging the bigger names in the division.

I disagree. This fight can serve as a very teachable lesson for Davis against the very experienced and cagey Yuri Gamboa.

Farmer, Berchelt or bust for Davis after this fight. Needs to take on one of them. And then hopefully GRJ/LSC takes place because GRJ said after that fight he wants to move up for Davis. That would be a fun scrap and another similar opponent to Lomachenko.

Ya know, Davis could just push for the Lomachenko fight after this and give us a great match up....One that I believe he competes with until the final bell, and one he may be able to actually pull it off. Mayweather Promotions need to let this supreme talent loose.
