But the fight he should be gunning for is Lomachenko. Worst case he gets schooled and gets better like Canelo did after fighting Floyd. But I really believe that is a very competitive fight. Davis has legitimate pop and skills. Not sure if he's mentally ready for a challenge like that, but that's why it would be great if he can fight guys like Farmer or Berchelt who will test him in multiple of ways.

To be honest with you, daggum, I've been thinking about Gamboa and Fortuna as a Davis debut fight at lightweight for a long while. Gamboa is pretty skilled, even at his age, and would show the young gun a couple of things. Fortuna, because Davis would completely destroy him in a fight of the year at 135.
When I saw that, I was like, "Wow.. Davis read my mind." Then a poster mentioned it would be at 130. I was disappointed. At 135, Gamboa is definitely a good fight.Last edited by BoxingIsGreat; 04-12-2019, 12:00 AM.

i had davis as top 10 p4p but gonna have to replace him if he continues to fight this level of opposition. gamboa on the decline , clearly past anywhere near his best
we are gonna hear "gamboa gave crawford his toughest fight" a ton in this promotion. actually we are not, pbc did not even list crawford as being in their top 5 welterweights in the porter vs ugas telecast
davis by stoppage
