cris byrd never had power at 168 let alone 200+ what he had was speed and skill. In a way he may have less of an anvantage moving down than staying at HW because the guys will be faster and punch harder at CW. I think cris gives up more by moving down because he has a great HW chin and is faster and better skilled than all Hw he has ever faught exceot klischko and the untamed menatally dranged beast Ike. I just think in an issue of weight that byrd is giving up more than he is gaining. Does byrd hit harder than bell, haye, or drozd, no no and no. is he faster than any of the not really. He has much better defence but that is it and may be that will be enough at CW but I am very skeptical. Moving down to CW has taken half of his arsinal that he had at HW away.

In my opinion the Mosley camp is well aware of how hard it is for Vargas to make weight.

The physical effects of almost complete dehydration to make weight as we all know is very tough on the body. Especially with a little more then 24 hours to rehydrate and refuel the body with carbs.

It is also suspected of one of the reasons that Vargas swelled up so grossly in their first fight.

Vargas is at a severe disdvantage at this weight class, and the mosley camp is aware of this.

Vargas is messing with his future as far as his career and his health for one more payday before he is completely shot.

      Mosley UD.

I don't think Vargas took this fight for a payday, he took it cause he felt he could have won had the fight not been stopped. And he possably could have won, it was an extremly close fight. Vargas is taking this fight cause he wants redeption, he could have moved up in weight and probably already have challenged Taylor for a good payday if it was only about the money but its not its about defeating Mosley.

Vargas, Margarito, Corrales, Castillo, Gatti, Cotto, etc, these guys kill themselves to make weight because they want an extra edge, bullying smaller guys. And I do not respect that, at all. period. If you do, fine, it's just my opinion that it's a ***** move to fight guys a lot smaller than you. If they gotta kill themselves to make weight, small price to pay to be fighting someone much smaller than them.
Your so wrong guys like moslry mayweather dlh and jones add hopkins to that list as well do not let their weights flutuate from fight to fight. because they stay disclaplined and never leave the gym from the day after their last fight to their next fight night. They are doing the same things as the punk asses you mention except not letting themselves baloon up between fights because of lack of disapline. All of those good guys you mentioned would gain wieght just like your bad boys if not for thier disipline.

Now, if Vargas loses, I guess it's because he couldn't drink Gatorade. Mosley already won Round 1.

              "Mosley KOs Gatorade!
Representatives of Shane Mosley today secured a court order today to prohibit Fernando Vargas from drinking Gatorade during their fight Saturday night in Las Vegas. Fighters on the undercard will be allowed to use sports drinks approved by the Nevada Commission."

This is gotta be one of the most ridiculous things that's happened in boxing for awhile. WTF, your bringing a case in court to ban your opponent from drinking freakin gatorade! And then threatening to call off the fight if it(gatorade) is allowed! What a ***** Mosley is; I hope this motivates Vargas even more to knock him out.

Before all this happened I was rooting for Mosley, now I'm hoping Vargas knocks his ass out and then during the postfight interview lifts a cold bottle of gatorade to his mouth!
