Never ran myself into the ground in any chosen profession, no. Never had such a hard-on for someone I didn’t know that I constantly and consistently predicted his demise (and been continually wrong). But I guess when you can’t recognize your own failures and sinking ship, you’ll miscalculate for others too.
But nobody knows who Wilder is doe!

To be fair to Deontay people are clearly beginning to know who he is, that ESPN list proved people are starting to google who he is and its shot him up that list. All those other already famous Boxers below him on the list dont need to be Google searched, people already know who they are.
But the biggest problem is when you google Deontay Wilder there is an awful lot of stuff about him turning down 100 million +. Bad time to google somebody when that person is looking like a big chicken.Comment

Says the person who lives in the US but sees exactly the same as I do when Wilder appears on TV or does interviews. You don't go round the whole country and gather information on how well known he is do you? Exactly. Making out Wilder appearing at a basketball game confirms him being well known or gives you any greater insight is nothing but the usual laughable nonsense I've come to expect from you. It's purely desperate with you not making any inroads to speak of.
My opinion is relevant enough to make a mockery out of you and your ridiculous opinions that garner nothing but chuckles. So as I said before in the other post, please continue to claim Wilder is well known because it's very funny.
AJ is well known, hence why he was able to do a PPV with Brezeale. Wilder isn't, hence he needs a much greater name than himself to do so otherwise no one gives a shlt. Those names are AJ and Fury. Trying to put the nobody Wilder on PPV against anyone else will do nothing but expose the true pull that Wilder has... IE none. This site is not reflective of real life. You get your opinions from the internet which isn't popular sentiment. That's like me tryna tell y'all the public sentiment of the UK boxing scene. I'm not there therefore i can't properly grasp it. That's why I ask questions instead of talking as if I'm an expert. You two don't seem to understand that. Even when i explained it to you y'all double down on your uninformed opinions.Isn't this list that wilder fans are trying to throw down everybody's throats is based on the Internet? So is the internet **** or good?
Don't get me wrong that list you sad wankers are waving around is a joke. If that's where you gotta stretch to to try prove wilders a big super star it's real weak. All normal gauges of popularity in this sport is done on attendances ppv sales and revenue. The system has been fine for many an American superstar.
But cuz it doesn't work in wilders favour, because it don't fit your narrative, let's ignore all that and use some Internet search list as the proof and all that other stuff you usually would go to can just be ignored and not talked about.Comment

yes, indeed, I did not think the PBC model was sustainable without a content deal, and I did not think he would get a substantial content deal.Never ran myself into the ground in any chosen profession, no. Well oh my god, I was wrong about that.

you confuse "cant" with "have no interest in"
I have been retired for almost 8 years, and yet I still get several calls a month wanting me to consult or partner up on events.
The one thing about boxing is that as long as you have a couple of bucks, ANYONE can get in the "club". Its nowhere near as exclusive as you would like to pretend........Comment

I wonder why you were so wrong, Terry? Perhaps the same reason you’re in this thread making snide remarks about a heavyweight champion making an appearance on the most watched US television event in weeks.yes, indeed, I did not think the PBC model was sustainable without a content deal, and I did not think he would get a substantial content deal.

my remarks were not directed at Wilder. I have no quarrel with him. He's just a guy out there trying to make a living. No beef with that.
My remarks were directed at threads like this. The absurd notion that because CBS wisely used their platform to provide exposure for an event occurring on a network they own (Showtime), that it wasnt actually "smart promoting", but instead it was some kind of proof that media outlets are clamoring up and down to have Wilder do interviews in prime time. Its beyond ******ed.
The thread should have been about how smart it was for CBS to do this, but the Haymon fan club couldnt stop at that, no, they had to paint it as some kind of evidence of the star power of Wilder. Its laughable, and as usual, is off base.Last edited by OnePunch; 04-09-2019, 09:08 AM.Comment
