As a pro fighter who makes a living from it? Yes.
It's a sport where there's a higher chance than most professions to injure someone and it could happen to you or them. But I'd know it wouldn't be my intention and I wouldn't take pleasure in it.
Hopefully I'd be able to help them in some way in that situation.
I guess it depends on your level, earnings and so on.Comment

Of course I would without a second thought. I would be sad but I would no it wasn't intentional or my fault and it could have been me instead of him. It's a rough sport and you know the danger getting in. If you don't want to risk hurting or killing someone then don't be a pro boxer. Many famous champions have killed an opponent and continued their career. Was thinking about this when ESPN had Gvozdyk on talking about the Stevenson fight and what his mental state would be going into the Dou dou fight after Stevenson got really damaged.
They were talking and Andre Ward said if the result of one of his fights was what happened to Stevenson that he would never fight again.
Kovalev and Griffith as well as Jesus Chavez have all be in fights like this. Griffith was never the same after and neither was Chavez but seems like Kovalev was fine. It's happened quite a bit throughout history.
So simple question, if you permanently damaged someone in the ring, would you fight again?Comment

I’m not Ward I was a solider and amateur boxer as a Solider you see the person as an enemy combatant or target , boxing an opponent. Both you’re trying to win and stay aliveComment

It’s hard to say without being put in that kind of situation, but I don’t think I would again after. I’d think about it too much in training and future fights and wouldn’t be the same. Maybe if I was a top fighter it’d be differentComment

I would apply the same philosophy as mexican HOFer Lupe Pintor after he killed that Johny Owen dude in the ring
¨What happened is very sad and regrettable, but that's the risk all of us fighters take everytime we get in the ring¨Comment

Everyone knows the risk. He's trying to hurt me too, which I'm trying not to let happen. I won't be celebrating that W, that's for sure.Comment
