The 33-year-old Wilder, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, is not committed to Showtime beyond the Breazeale bout. That freedom should allow Wilder, at least theoretically, to negotiate again with representatives for DAZN and ESPN, both of which offered him long-term contracts recently, as he purses a rematch with Fury (ESPN) and a much-discussed showdown with Anthony Joshua (DAZN).
People aren't looking at the fact that Wilder DID NOT SIGN a long term contract with Showtime and is free to negotiate again with espn and DAZN. Which I believe Wilder's plan is too get an impressive ko against Brezeale and peak a little more interest in signing him. I think people love to hate him at this point lol Personally I think Fury, AJ and Wilder are all just making sure they are compensated accordingly before they are fed to one another lol they just want a little more financial security that's all.Comment

If Wilder is getting good money to fight Breazeale then why was turning down the DAZN offers a bad move? Those deals were contingent on him beating Breaeale anyway. If Wilder and Joshua both win their next bouts then a unififcation bout can easily take place. How about Hearn and Joshua offering Wilder a one fight 40 million dollar deal. Will they? I doubt it and if they did he would jump all over it and finally knock Joshua's overrated arse out!Comment

How can they afford to pay him $20 million for Breazeale? I feel like DAZN could rob Peter to pay Paul for the Wilder-Breazeale fight, with the Joshua fight(s) and also with other revenue they could take in from other fights and services on DAZN. Taking a gamble in way.
But what has Wilder ever made besides the Fury fight? If you don't count Pac/Floyd, there are only 2 superstars - Joshua and Canelo, in the sport right now. They can fight a lot of people and have it be PPV. Someone like GGG is probably the 3rd 'star' right now but he would struggle to do a good PPV against most people. I don't think Wilder's fan base is probably even half of GGG's right now. So Wilder's PPV potential is even more limited.
A service like DAZN could actually be a blessing for boxing fans (and boxers) - all these guys signed to the same service, and the service makes them fight each other. And the boxers seem to be getting paid very well by DAZN. I just can't see why Wilder is passing up that money but maybe he really is getting paid very well by Showtime, idk. I just don't really see how.
Him not going to DAZN not only deprives us of the best fighting the best it also may cost him a lot of money. Hopefully for his sake Showtime is able to make that fight with Joshua but man those were some crazy numbers being offered to Wilder. I don't see how the fight brings that much in. If you pass up an opportunity like that it may not come around again.Comment

I hear what you're saying.
I just don't see where Showtime is getting the money to pay him? They have to be banking on the Joshua and Fury fights coming into play and making a lot of money. But man I just hope Wilder isn't screwing himself over here and costing himself a lot of money.
Seems like there is a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes, including a proxy war between DAZN and the traditional promoters and networks.Comment

He do not need to go to Dazn to get Joshua fight have no idea why people keep spewing that lie.... What needs to happen now is fox/showtime/dazn/espn present each guy with best contract they can offer without having to sign long term deals with them if they both win next fights and take that, they both are network free agentsComment
