Mikey was always overrated. Basic ass fighter who cherry picked his way to becoming a 4 division champion.Comment

As a fighter all around I don't think he got exposed. As a welterweight? Hell yeah he got exposed as a fighter that has no business at that weight and he quit went into survival mode he flat out pulled a Chavez Jr. Chavez did the same thing against Canelo when plan A to outbox Spence wasn't working rather then take more risk and try to actually win the fight he quit took less risks to avoid getting knocked out and just wanted to reach the final bell.
If he goes back down in weight and wins beats top guys people will forget about his performance. If he doesn't do that people will start questioning those paper belts he won and this fight get's more highlighted.Last edited by bigdunny1; 03-21-2019, 10:25 AM.Comment

Mikey was never a 147 fighter and never will be. He's too small. I think he was looking for a way out of boxing but I guess we'll see.As a fighter all around I don't think he got exposed. "Exposed" is a term overused by casuals. Mikey to me didn't show me anything I did or didn't know about him. The fight was a mismatch and he was as successful as I thought he would be.
My take on Mikey: He's an excellent fighter, but I'm not that blown away by his 4-division stuff because he's never really been #1 in any of those divisions (maybe he was briefly at 126) but he never fought the #1 at 130, 135, 140 and I don't even know that he fought the #2 or 3 even. He was carefully matched and guided facing slow footed opponents who'd come forward and had limited defense and power. In Spence he fought a beast and the result was a disaster but most felt it would be because Mikey was never going to be in that fight. I'll be really impressed by him if he's able to dominate a division and beat some variety of styles like movers, slick defensive types because I consider him very basic, he has an excellent one-two but not much else, slow feet and limited head movement. It's why I felt he'd be routed by Crawford and dominated by Lomachenko.
So I'm not ready to write him off just as I wasn't ready to anoint him. He's a top 10 p4p guy but I'd say he's 9 or 10 and will never be top 5.Comment
