Was Mikey Garcia exposed?

He was exposed. He somehow managed to turn a no lose fight career wise into a loss. He lost every damn round, usually the small guy has some early success but he couldn't even manage that.

Rigo/JMM/Garcia all got shutout. Doesn't mean they were exposed. The reason they didn't win rounds off the bigger fighters like other small fighters usually do is because these smaller fighters had no physical advantage over the bigger fighter. Garcia wasn't faster than Spence and neither was JMM compared to Floyd. In terms of Rigo, he may have had on par hand speed, but definitely not a big advantage or anything against Lomachenko and in that case the bigger fighter will always dominate.

Nah my man you are giving him way too much credit and let’s not exaggerate either. Loma is way smaller than Spence but bet the farm he gives him a much tougher fight because he has great footwork speed and accuracy. Mikey was just beating up on bums and smaller guys

Mikey has good footwork but lets not try and compare him to all time great footwork. Loma has ATG footwork. It's a known thing.

And Mikey is smaller than Broner so no, he doesn't just beat up smaller men. That's what Spence does.

All that stuff about "knows" boxing is silly. I predicted a stoppage too but never saw this fight as one sided as this. Mikey didn't win a round.

You can go back into my posting history as far as you want. Since Mikey has been around, I have always considered him to have a carefully orchestrated career.


He has always fought the same type. Guys that will stand right in front of him and attempt to land. He could punch a 1-2 inside their hooks and look good doing it.


He expected the same thing from Spence. He expected Spence to barrel ahead and throw wide hooks to his head and body that he could 1-2 in between. He never expected for Spence to have an extra dimension to his game though, and he had no answers for it. Slow feet and always being out of angle to even throw punches without trying to keep those slow feet moving.

Garcia just stood in front of spence like a punching bag. no side to side or head movement and spence still could even hurt him

Even though I never expected Mikey to win, I didn't think he'd look that horrible and one dimensional. He was a walking punching bag all night. Spence looked faster and more agile and he was the bigger man.

Not a chance. Yeah, it looked like he got outboxed, however a large part of that is because you fight different guys different. Against someone significantly bigger than him who can hurt him, Mikey couldn't take the risks he would have taken otherwise. He had no choice but to be ultra conservative.

A good example would be Lomachenko - Linares. Loma did his usual beautiful pivots, dart in and dart out. But he took the same risks he did vs. lower weight fights, and when he got caught, he went down on his ass.
