Possibly, and that's perfectly fine if that's what happens. It will also depends on how many PPV buys they think this fight could potentially do. Whoever gets the fight will have to pay Joshua/Wilder around 100M or even a bit more. Pretty insane but realistic. This fight in the UK even at 4 am will do like 1-1.2M buys I'm thinking. The live gate could reach above 20M. So it's going to be lucrative no doubt. Now we shall see how the fighters upcoming fights go. Risky for Wilder to turn down a guaranteed deal vs Joshua that would happen even if he loses to Breazeale.

Nobody is trying to tie Wilder to a specific network or asking for any options on him after he fights AJ. He was offered Breazeale, who he has to fight any way, and 2 fights with AJ, which is what he said he wanted. After that, win or lose, he could fight wherever he wanted.
maybe he wants a fury rematch first

im not a mind reader. Why cant they just do ONE fight contract? just sayin if you know what I mean!

He can't have a Fury rematch first. If they hadn't robbed Fury he would have got it, but there you go.

And Wilder himself has said that he would want a 2 way rematch clause with any offer he got for a fight with AJ.

DAZN offered him a guaranteed $40million for a rematch, even if he lost the first fight. $80million is more than Canelo got as the A side from 2million+ PPV sales with GGG. And $20million to fight Breazeale, on top of that.

It was a crazy good offer, and the only reason I can see for Wilder turning it down is that he is scared of getting kTFO by AJ, and his team are using that fear to manipulate him into staying tied up with them.

thats your opinion on that..... Idk exactly why he made that choice but if it comes out to be better good for him.... if it comes out to be worse (ala broner when he declined that roc nation deal of i think it was like 40 mill)

So they offered him a 3 fight deal where he is't fighting Aj first. He decline and they can talk when they are both free to fight each other. They can make a 1 fight offer and go from there. Crazy how every time a PBC fighter declines multi fight deals just to fight 1 guy people say they are ducking. PBC nor Showtime are asking anyone to do the same, they just want to make a fight.

And you said all that about Fury and how Wilder struggled....Yet the Joshua fight is actually bigger than when they were first negotiating?

The lure of two huge punchers fighting for the undisputed title will make that fight massive, regardless of if Joshua struggles vs Miller or Wilder struggles vs Breazeale.
No, my point is this: Wilder's negotiating power with Joshua is not the same after struggling against Fury and will suffer even more if Breazeale works him. Wilder is a one-punch wonder who gets exposed a little more each time he fights someone with actual boxing skills.

The problem here it is PROVEN Wilder's negotiating power increased against Joshua after the Fury fight. How do I know? Eddie Hearn said it himself. So right there your point immediately becomes moot and wrong.

And yet, he was made a fight package offer, which he turned down in favor of facing Breazeale, for what I doubt is more. Did Hearn offer him a huge payday for one fight against AJ? No.

Also Breazeale is tailor made for Wilder with little speed, boxing ability or defense. He is essentially a punching bag with arms, very unlikely to work Wilder and pretty much guaranteed to make Wilder look amazing. A guy looks amazing no matter the opponent it usually helps them build steam toward a bigger fight.

Well, that's because Breazeale was next either way. If Wilder signed with ESPN/SHO/DAZN, he had to fight Breazeale next. So there is a reason he wasn't offered the Joshua fight next....Because well, he had to satisfy his mandatory.
