This is where the super fanboys accuse me of "hating" and attempting to discredit Spence at any cost, even though I've only been addressing this one aspect of him. He has more or less *perfect* fundamentals (equal or superior to Garcia's), great speed, and good if not great defense that will almost assuredly only improve from here. But power? Dorry, still not sold on that bill of goods. Time is on his side though, and maybe the actual power will catch up to the rep.

That chin is average at best, idiotic "mellon head" quips be damned. A clearly still compromised Kell Brook that GGG battered to hell inside 6 took Spence 11 rounds of intensive labor. These are the two guys with a pulse Spence has now faced, and he's been less than convincing in the power dept against both. Again, it's abundantly clear he was going for the kill saturday, every bit as much as with Brook. You throw *that* volume of punches, and are somehow not going for the KO? Now I've heard everything. It's easy to build a "power" narrative against an illustrious line up of welter uber drivers of "questionable" chin.

He is a technical fighter that dissects his opponents before breaking them down. Even he got a lot of criticism for not being able to KO early a dude fighting with one leg. Maybe Spence didn't want to go for a KO since he wanted to prove to the audience other skills he has in him. Why do you think the other welterweights not interested in fighting him
My main takeaway from Crawford-Benavidez is how overly cautious I felt Crawford was pretty much right up until the last two or so rounds. It struck me as timid even by clinic standards...I would have welcomed way more of what I saw in 11-12, and way earlier. So in some ways, I felt the flack he got for that performance was well deserved. It's funny in that what I saw from him there struck me as the level of caution I'd expect from him up against Spence (justifiably), but I was seeing it against someone who arguably isn't fit to carry Spence's gym towel. In contrast there was no such timidness from Spence - I saw an insane work rate and output that told me he was out for Garcia's head as much as any previous opponent.
All that said, wariness toward Spence within the division is very justified, overrated power or not. He has enough in his arsenal to have a healthy chance of taking away anyone else's 0, be it by KO or just outboxing. Weight bully or not, power or not, he is formidable at welter. For the time being, Terence just needs to focus on not sleeping on Amir, who may have more left in the tank than his last couple outings may suggest...Last edited by Sweet Scions; 03-19-2019, 01:11 AM.

I'm also aware that he's probably the smallest welterweight available and years past his best so beating him would not advance Spence much in many fans eyes.
And yes I'm a hurt fan of Spence. I think he's top 10 pfp and should be aiming higher.
It's a shame people like you have to ruin forums like this with your quickfire toxic replies and inability to have an adult conversation/debate.
