Hopefully you already know the answer to that. Easter, while competant, has enough basic flaws in his game that Mikey could use his own skills to close the distance and walk him down. Spence doesn't have those same basic flaws, so Mikey was kept on the outside where Spence could use the advantages he had wrt height and reach all night.
The disappointment is probably that given his elite status, Mikey showed no ability or willingness to try unlock the puzzle of an equally skilled, bigger opponent in front of him. His typical 'stand and box' style was quickly showing itself to be ineffective against Spence, then there was no box of tricks or Plan Bs in his arsenal to deal with it, so we were left with what ended up a rather tedious fight with Spence able to cruise through each round just using the advantages he had without any signal from Mikey that there was going to be any resistance to stop Spence cruising to what ended up a rather easy, pedestrian win for him.
Spence could have changed the pattern of the fight if he wanted to, but he was being offered an easy, pain-free W, so he took it - can't really criticise him for that.
Any criticism does indeed need to be placed at the feet of Mikey in that he didn't ask Spence any questions, and win, lose or draw, elite should always ask questions of the other guy, even if physically outmatched.
Eg. Thing about Canelo/Mayweather for a second. Mayweather outgunned Canelo in too many departments, for Canelo to win that, but Canelo was asking questions of Mayweather all night, it was just that Mayweather had all the answers. Mikey didn't ask Spence any questions, so we don't know if he had all the answers, we're just left assuming he did.
Well said. Mikey is going to be disappointed in himself for a long time. Even losing, he could have left with his head high and his reputation elevated. Think Hagler-Duran. I had real doubts that he could win, but I really expected him to at least get his pound of flesh.

Very well said!!! That's exactly what I and others wanted to see...Garcia try to figure out the puzzle with his size disadvantage. He kept saying he added the weight and kept the speed, but he could not get in range to do anything significant. Spence took this opportunity to display another level to his game and I loved every minute of it. Garcia challenged himself like old school champs used to do. When other champs say the best should face the best they really mean the biggest $$ draw should face them. Garcia took this fight even though he could have held out and protected his undefeated record for a Manny fight! That to me is a real champ and a real boxer. That's why i paid for this knowing the odds really weren't in Garcia's favor.
Well .... I guess we have to wait for another ballsy light-weight to call out Spence. Because I don't see any of the other WW's with a belt or otherwise, anxious to get in the ring with him. This is of course, excluding Crawford, who has an Arum\network problem to overcome first.
So BIG props to Mikey for stepping-up like a Champ, even though many knew the outcome of the fight beforehand.
Spence should go up to 160 and fight Andrade, Charlo or GGG!!! He wants that payday from Pac-Man or Loma.
You sound dumb. He should fight the best at his division the same way the other champions should do at their divisions. Mikey asked for that fight, not Spence. You prayed for a loss and those prayers went unanswered. Cut the foolishness.
Where's the boogeyman power we're always hearing about from the fanatics? Was it taking the night off? And contary to the "chess not checkers" narrative I've seen spun one too many times on youtube, it is glaringly obvious by the increasingly heated flurries toward closing time that Spence *was* seeking the KO 100% and simply coming up short. As a natural MW comfortable in his weight bully racket and on his home turf...against a first time welter not exactly known for his granite Golovkin chin, who had to forge a devil's snac pact with Victor Conte to inflate himself to an awkward, slow, watery 147. That's arguably *regression* from the late stoppage of true blue (albeit shopworn) welter Brook who has the distinction of being the Spence's first opponent to not moonlight at Home Depot, but hey, whatevs. I mean, I understand it,.I really do. Since even a Gabe Rosado gives this pillow-fisted weight bully hype job a headache at his true home, he should definitely ride this train until the wheels fall off.
That's cause Mikey is durable and has a chin. Not an easy guy to KO. Mikey proved that night he can dish punishment
