Errol Spence looked terrible

Er.... what? Wilder is a heavyweight, there was nothing stopping him coming in at ~225. He chose this fight to come in at his lightest ever and lost 3 lbs between the weigh-in and fight night which makes no sense to me.You guys are such hypocrites! You no good bastards weren't saying that same shit about Tyson Fury when he took Deontay Wilder the distance; Without so much as hurting, dropping, stopping or knocking him down.
While Tyson outweighed Deontay Wilder by more than 50 or more some odd pounds. At least Mikey Garcia and Erroll Spence, Jr weighed approximately the same amount of weight; A 147 lbs.
Moreover, Mikey was a four divisional champion, who was the more scientific of the two, with overall better skills and the more fundamentally sound one as well.
As Erroll Spence, Jr shut him down totally and completely by outclassing and dominating him. Then to top all of that off he punished him also.
I appreciate that Spence would have been restricted with the second weigh-in but we also know that he could easily be fighting at least one division higher while Mikey has looked sub optimal at 140, never mind 147.
Apples and oranges bro.Last edited by Cobra Curry; 03-17-2019, 12:20 PM.Comment

I thought he looked great in the boxing category, more so because me and several others didn't give him much credit in his boxing.
His power didn't look devastating and I think it proves he won't be able to stop big durable guys like Thurman, Porter, Garcia, and Crawford which many believed he could. He hit a lightweight with so many flush shots and hardly buckled him, that was surprising regardless of how tough and good a chin Mikey has.Comment

Brook actually engaged and came to win. Mikey went into survival mode halfway through the fight and if another world class fighter decide he's just going to survive, that's likely what is going to happen.Comment

yeah they both won... but spence won more. mikey showed that he is unwilling to make adjustments if the fight isnt going his way. by adjustments i mean taking risks to put himself in a position where he could possibly win. we saw him slip out of the salido fight when it started to turn but in this fight there was no out so he barely threw punches and contently took his loss.Spence did not look terrible. He does what he does best and that's to win. If you want to gripe I would say:
He did not put a ''masterclass'' or ''clinic'' but he DID DOMINATE the fight as most predicted. There's a difference.
both fighters won imo. Mikey didn't look severely hurt, that grit will play on his next fights to an advantage.Comment
