Could not agree more about BS Pac excuse about shoulder.Torn rotator cuff??I have separated my shoulder before pretty good and I could not lift arm above my waste and I was drunk as he ll lol.Pac was throwing HARD punches ALL NIGHT with that arm and NEVER said anything in interview right after fight. It was not until later at press con after he had time to be coached by team.He MIGHT have had a small injury but what fighter don't and I doubt it had ANY effect on fight he ll floyds hands were prob worse. And then as you pointed out NO SURGERY just salt water lmao."Thank GOD im healed"smdh.Nice post.

Agree 1000% why no mention in post fight interview because as you pointed out it was his team that came up with BS excuse. And also he threw the da mn thing hard all night. And then no surgery just salt water???Your comment makes me think of Breads response to Cotto vs Martinez, and Mayweather vs Pac. I understand what Bread is saying and I wonder why the May/Pac naysayers don’t give that same energy to May/Pac? Pac clearly lost and showed no signs of any injury at anytime of the fight! To me the shoulder excuse was just that a very elaborate excuse to sullen Floyd’s clear win, and to make a serious excuse for a rematch! We all know that Floyd has only two rematches and they came after some feeling he lost. The vast majority of Fans and experts feel Floyd won easily so an immediate rematch wasn’t necessary. But Pac I think hurt his chances with the shoulder scheme, a scheme I have no doubt was cooked up by Bob Arum!Comment

Yea totally agree about fight(Johnson v Jeffries)being one of three fights that could be called "Fight of Century" due to historical or social context. The 2 others being Louis v Shemling11 or Ali v Frazier1.Im 100% 2nd gen Irish American and one story I love is during Ali v Frazier their was a lot of fighting going on between Provo IRA and communist splinter group of IRA and they all quit fighting and went home for night to watch/listen to fight the streets were empty. It takes a lot to get the Irish to stop fighting but that fight did it for that night anyways lol.Yeah, can't fault the Breadman overall, but like the rest of us he makes mistakes or just has some ideas that are difficult to square... and of course you're spot on with Johnson - Jefferies. The significance of that fight is in it's wider historical and social context, not the quality of the fight itself or the long retired Jefferies as an opponent.
And yeah, I'm a fan of Paulie's brand of knowledgeable straight talk delivered in that Brooklyn twang... he does play favourites to some extent, but we all do a bit of that and I ain't gonna hold it against a guy.Last edited by john l; 03-16-2019, 06:03 PM.Comment

Ha ha - now that's one I hadn't heard of... hard to imagine anything like that happening now, though of course the Irish are still some of the most passionate fans there are. That was an era when the whole world pretty much ground to a standstill for the biggest HW fights.Yea totally agree about fight(Johnson v Jeffries)being one of three fights that could be called "Fight of Century" due to historical or social context. The 2 others being Louis v Shemling or Ali v Frazier.Im 100% 2nd gen Irish American and one story I love is during Ali v Frazier their was a lot of fighting going on between Provo IRA and communist splinter group of IRA and they all quit fighting and went home for night to watch/listen to fight the streets were empty. It takes a lot to get the Irish to stop fighting but that fight did it for that night anyways lol.Comment

Mikey is a very solid boxer and 2nd best LW in world. Spence is a very solid boxer and is the 2nd best WW in the world. Let's not forget this. I say Spence ko's Mikey Rd 5. And if it goes the distance it looks horrid on Spence.Comment

Yea ive heard that story few times and gotta admit I find it a bit funny.Yea esp those 3 fights really hard to pick one being more historical they all such big social importance at time they happened. Can only imagine what that was like to live though and see.Ha ha - now that's one I hadn't heard of... hard to imagine anything like that happening now, though of course the Irish are still some of the most passionate fans there are. Breadman is such a biased gggfanboi. Hes literally 1 more ggg die hard who gives him credit for fights he didn't even have let alone ones he rightfully lost to the smallish ginger he cherrypicked his way into becoming his legacy fight. He says he would be fotd if he won vs Canelo

He says "he had 20 title defense"=against scrubs!!! And with vacant gifted/jr belts for many of those defenses. He dropped the FULL ibf belt rather than face deryev & claimed it was because "he wanted to be better compensated for such a risky fight"this of course being ironic because him/his fans claimed Canelo was the biggest pssy in history 4 dropping his lineal WBC title because he didn't wanna give ggg 45% just for having a jr gifted wbc belt. Ggg is a FRAUD(although yes I do consider very elite skillwise) Ggg STILL is ducking everyone & will go back to beating cans & begging 4 another undeserved payday. Ggg fans are de****able for their hypocritical ways & breadman is among the worst offenders
Gggs supposedly fotd for defending jr/gifted belts vs scrubs/smaller men,yet Canelo actually moving up in weight to get a WBA trinket doesn't count(yes fielding was a bum) even though many of ggg wins he counts as title defenses were defending his gifted VACANT wba jr trinket.
GGG has only 1 single actual title win that wasn't vacant & that was vs Jacobs.GGG is hypocritical for bashing Canelo against Khan and then he do it with Kell Brook, when little GGG said in the past that he not interested in fighting Kell Brook, because he was a welterweight. GGG ducked Lara, Canelo in 155 lbs, Andre Ward with that ****** catch weight of 164 lbs, James DeGale, Badou Jack when both was champion in 168 lbs, saying they bring little to the table, also I believe he use this same excuse to duck Lara. Also he ducked Derechenko and Jermall Charlo. I heard that maybe he going to fight a unknown inexperience undefeated fighters pillow fisted for his DAZN first fight. GGG words:"Is all about the belts and becoming undisputed middleweight champion of the world", "Anyone from 154 to 168 lbs", "We are not about money and we do Drama Show Mexican Style", "We are going to fight exciting fight", "We are not going to chase belts anymore". I believe there are more I not mention. Also, that nonsense that fighters ducked GGG in all his career is a lie to hype him.the fanboys still don't get it.....
" The wait and see mentality screwed GGG over. "
Golovkin is 100% responsible, and therefore 100% accountable, for the..... "wait and see mentality"..... that affected his career
to suggest otherwise is blatant ******ity
like I have been saying for years..... they took the fights they wanted, and they passed on the rest..... just like everyone elseComment

It was literally the last "shocking" moment in boxing for me personally with the way that fight played out with my prediction of how the fight would play out. Seriously its like Mikey stopping Spence lol.. It was PPV worthy. Something unexpected happening, surprising outcome sorta like a UFC fight.
Im sure there were alot of fans like us who felt the same way and atleast in the moment felt like we witnessed an ATG victory. It was a sweet thing to see either way, ATG or not.Comment
