Haymon has backing and trust from Espinoza. Surely Espinoza too could work on Red Alert and get his superiors to approve a plan for Showtime Boxing which he would then assure Finkel and Haymon in recent days.

This would mean guarantees with PPV and extensive fights for the next 3 years that in general exceeds DAZN’s offer.

Plus its hard to know Skipper’s bias for Matchroom or his plans to renew with Hearn in the next years which would affect Wilder’s skepticism in signing.

Honestly, it's actually because Canelo got his deal that others are getting theirs. Canelo was the first big deal DAZN handed out, and at that time people thought they were crazy giving him that much when some of his opponents will be mismatches. That allowed GGG to negotiate his type of deal knowing how much money DAZN is throwing around and in result Wilder was able to get an insane offer himself.

It's just like NBA and NFL contracts. Every year free agents enter the market and end up getting more than the previous best deal even if they aren't on that level. No difference here.

If Wilder beats AJ he can be a bigger star than Canelo which justifies it. But he's also more likely to lose in his next 10 fights so it makes sense to offer him a shorter deal with huge money. Even if Wilder fights AJ twice and loses both, the fights can generate more than Canelo vs Jacobs/Golovkin.
