To be honest I don't think these reported headline numbers are as clear cut as some of you guys make out, there will be a lot caveats and things in the contracts. Who knows if Canelo would even fight that long, and I'm sure results will affect the longevity of the contract, boxing is unlike any other sport where 1 or 2 losses can have a major impact on marketability, activity level, sudden injury is more prevalent than other sports, and boxers don't get paid if they don't fight.

As far as Wilder goes DAZN are taking a risk, Wilder's worth is linked to Joshua. Canelo and Joshua are high value commodities on their own, especially Canelo in the US

It was a good word then and it's still a good word and everybody reading this knows what jipped means. Most English words have been around for hundreds of years so you don't need to throw good words out for new words that mean exactly the same thing.

That allowed GGG to negotiate his type of deal knowing how much money DAZN is throwing around and in result Wilder was able to get an insane offer himself.

It's just like NBA and NFL contracts. Every year free agents enter the market and end up getting more than the previous best deal even if they aren't on that level. No difference here.
I mean when compared to fighters using the ppv model. They are getting ten and twenty million guarantees on their first ppvs. Their numbers are only expected to grow. Even Anthony Joshua is expected to fight off of dazn for his big event. My point is looking at the ppv market now canelo could make more than 33 million per fight had he just waited or did like ggg did

IDK what Wilder ever did to make him such a hot commodity but I'm not gonna hate on him for it. Guy might be a terrible boxer but he's brilliant when it comes to getting paid. Only a fool would try to deny that.
A better offer? He barely draws flies to caca! Pbc/haymon are gonna have to put him on ppv and good luck with that if he ain't fighting anybody good!

If he doesn't wind up with a better deal he will surely look like a fool. We are going to have to wait and see how this plays out. He better make sure whoever is advising him not to take the deal gives him a contract to assure he will make more. Him being a heavyweight and this being boxing one punch is all it takes to destroy your ability to bring in that cheddah!

Yep. No other division where you could be getting out boxed the entire fight until one huge punch that is always lurking can literally change everything.

You're not understanding. Canelo was THE first guy with this deal. All the other deals are essentially leveraged off of his. And when HBO got out of boxing, Canelo couldn't just wait months before signing with someone. DAZN at that time gave him a great deal and better than any other deal.

Once Wilder gets beaten I don't expect any champ to ever give him a chance again maybe IF he is a huge star but I still doubt it. Some fighters lose quite a few title fights and get multiple shots to regain their title but Wilders power is just too damn scary. No one will want to take that chance. He needs to get as much money as he can while he's still on top.
