all you do is bash floyd so don't give that bull****, and i'm far from anyone's groupie *******. you post dumb **** and get owned almost every time. i'll say this one more time and anybody that knows anything about boxing should agree, marg has yet to prove anything. his resume is mediocre at best, and i don't see anyway that arum could guarantee that kind of money to floyd when casual fans don't know who marg is. -
Unfortunately you have to. It's Judah's fault, but the P4P #1 guy cannot fight a guy who just lost to Baldomir. He has to fight the guy that beat him instead. Floyd says Baldomir priced himself out, but he says that about Winky and everyone else, so who knows? To the true linear champion goes the spoils. Floyd should have ****** it up, gotten the championship from Baldomir and then ruled the roost and everyone would have to come to him and he'd actually be a champion again. He hasn't been a champion in a long time now. For a P4P #1 guy to fight for several years without being a champion is a little silly, to me.Originally posted by cortdawg25mECHSLAVE, who wanted to fight him at lightweight after Gatti, none of the top tier, Not Cotto not Hatton who both were there watching the massacre before there very eyes. Thats 2 yrs wasted on them beating up bums because they didnt want to fight. Before that he fought Chop Chop and bruseles I believe to make him #1 contender for Gatti. No one wanted it at 140 so he moves up and challenges the linear champ in Judah. Judah loses to Baldomier, but did u really want him to fight Baldomier?Comment

We cant keep blaming boxers for being too good and once they skills diminish say they were never nothing. Lets sit back and enjoy the science that he displays while in his prime. I cant sit here and fathom questioning the best boxer in the game over a challenger who won a paper title on a wack belt, and the most significant win that he has is against six head lewis. Antonio loss to David Santos who has nowhere near the skills of mayweather and we want to label Floyd the fraud. Truth be told, Margarito name shouldnt even be mentioned with Floyd's at this time.Comment

HEADLINING A PPV DOESN'T MAKE YOU A "PPV FIGHTER".Originally posted by mECHsLAVEUm, Margarito headlined a PPV card before Floyd ever did. LOL I guess you weren't watching boxing last year and don't remember the Margarito-Cintron hype? Anyone who just now found out about Margarito when Arum made the $8.5M offer to Floyd wasn't much of a boxing fan.
Margarito has not been fortunate enough to get a draw like Gatti in the ring (Gatti's people want him to stick around a little while longer and not end his career). Before Gatti, Floyd had never had a PPV and fought in half-empty venues.
margarito's TWO PPV's don't add up to what PBF did vs Zab. Anz PBF-Zab did BIGGER numbers than gatti-Floyd. Even though everyone hates Zab, and zab INTENTIONALLY tried to tank the promotion since he wasn't getting a cut of PPV revenues.
PLUS, margarito was NOT the draw vs Cintron. The reason that first fight did ANY numbers (150K) was because Shane was on the undercard. Want proof? Margarito's second PPV (Feb this year) did under 70K buys. And he didn't sell out a SMALL room at the Aladdin.
Floyd put 12,000 in a sold-out Grand Rapids (home) arena. He sold 7,000 in Portland. margarito has NEVER done those kinda nums.
Get your info right. You sissy.Comment

I agree with you Mech about the p4p champ not being a linear champ for some time now, but what could Floyd do? It was really Judah's fault for being so unprepared in has fight against Baldy. While you are probably right that Baldy didn't price himself out, the fight with Judah had basically been made already. In the casual observer's mind, beating Baldy would have been stating the obvious. Even if Floyd was the linear champ now, he could still be running into this situation because who would he fight? Gatti again? No, the answer would still be Margarito which lands us in the same position. Don't get me wrong I want to see PBF in with the best fighters out there (at this point probably Margarito), but he shouldn't be blamed for not gaining linear championships from Hatton (who didn't want to fight at the time) or Baldy.Comment

good point. he can fight some guys that will ****en get him to what he wants quicker, before his shelf life runs out as i think hes 28 or something.Originally posted by El Temiblebut why is margarito considered so high
he says hes avoided yet
mitchell, santos, williams, quintana have called him out but weres his reply
he cant beat floyd he just wants the payday
if he faught paul or quintana or both then he'd be doing the right thing for his career.
tony is the welterweight JMM. if he doesn't start to be smart, hes going to end up penniless.Comment

So according to your logic, margarito shouldn't even be his priority, the Gatti/Baldomier winner should be? I agree Zab definitely messed things up, but u gotta know deep down that Zab was the right man to fight and the best at 147 on his best night.Originally posted by mECHsLAVEUnfortunately you have to. Everything you said has been responded to. Margarito was screwed by Vitali's injury. Margarito has never gotten a draw like Gatti in the ring.
Floyd is not the draw everyone thinks he is without a name fighting him. I don't doubt that he did decent numbers in his home state, but the Mitchell fight did terrible and I was at the Bruselas fight and the place was not even 1/3 full. The post I was responding to took the stance that Floyd is Tyson-reincarnate and nobody knew about Margarito until a few weeks ago when Arum made the $8.5M offer to Floyd. That's the argument I was responding to. Try to follow along.Comment

It should have been, but it's too late if Gatti wins, which is likely. Gatti's people will avoid a Floyd rematch, unless there's some serious money involved. But given how one-sided the first fight was, I don't see it being that big of a draw now.Originally posted by cortdawg25So according to your logic, margarito shouldn't even be his priority, the Gatti/Baldomier winner should be? And I don't agree with ignoring the outcome of fights just because you think the loser is still a better fighter. That's not how boxing has historically worked and hopefully won't digress into that.Comment
