its really getting ridiculous. Floyd only been at welterweight this year and he only fought Sharmba to tune-up for Zab. He didnt fight Casamoyer because he slow and washed up. I dont understand why nobody is recognizing Zab as a serious threat. people like Zab, Chop Chop, Sharmba Mitchell, and the Oouma of the world are the gate keepers. If Margo really wanted to make himself the best available option, fight Zab or spinks or Oouma. Since when has any opponent/challenger really been able to make demands. The top tier guys make the decisions, they give shots. Margo go fight some of the gatekeepers and win convincingly, then maybe the top tier guys would give him a shot. U cant take over the castle, if u dont go thru the guards!!

Dude, learn to use the shift key. You're a Bozo-groupie newb who knows F-all. I don't hate Floyd, but I'd like to see him up his level of competition. And I don't think I'm alone there.

He's fought sub-par competition for over 4 years now. Time to get with the program. If you claim to be the best, then fight the best. Simple.

Yeah but people saying he should fight the best and then throwing out a name like Margarito doesn't make much sense to me. ****...Even little Miguelito Cotto has done more than Margarito. Like you said, to be the best you have to beat the best and just like the other guy said if he wants to get a fight with the best, he has to work his way up.

lets leave cotto out of this, because then those pricans are gonna come in here and tell us, like we don't already know the obvious, that he's going to handle BOTH mayweather and margarito.

so lets not mention, the MONSTER, that is miguel cotto. thanks guys.

mECHSLAVE, who wanted to fight him at lightweight after Gatti, none of the top tier, Not Cotto not Hatton who both were there watching the massacre before there very eyes. Thats 2 yrs wasted on them beating up bums because they didnt want to fight. Before that he fought Chop Chop and bruseles I believe to make him #1 contender for Gatti. No one wanted it at 140 so he moves up and challenges the linear champ in Judah. Judah loses to Baldomier, but did u really want him to fight Baldomier?

It's hard to say that Floyd is ducking Margarito since he has only had 2 fights at Welter. Mitchell was a push-over, but at least he was well regarded at lower weight, and the Zab that fought Mayweather would have beaten Baldomir. Basically my point is that if Floyd schedules a good fight this year (Margarito, Mosley, Hatton, Cotto etc.) Then I will be totally cool. PBF deserves the benefit of the doubt because unlike most fighters who are shielded from top competition until later in their careers, Floyd fought those guys early on. If he finishes his career with strong competition then everything is forgiven (except the Brussles fight). Also, PPV popularity shouldn't say much about a fighter. $ is made from non-boxing fans tuning in, and since we are all boxing fans this is not a good standard. Frankly a lot of the non-PPV cards have been better than PPV this year.

Sure, I'd like to see him fight Cotto. That would be an excellent fight and a big money fight. But hey, let's just start with a fighter who isn't trying to comeback from a loss in his last fight first.

Margarito is the general-consensus #1 welterweight behind Floyd. The lineage is with Gatti/Baldomir, but we all know Tony or Floyd would own them (and should make a fight with the winner- it's ****** when the championship is with a lesser fighter). Hatton is not sure what weight he's going to stay at and has a mandatory. So Margarito is really the only guy to give Floyd a serious challenge at the moment unless Mosely or DLH make a fight with him, or Castillo moves up. I think many people would like to see a Floyd-Castillo 3 rubber match, given most had Castillo winning their first fight and losing the second.

No way Cotto can beat PBF right now. Maybe in a few years with some more experience. If Paulie Malignaggi gave Cotto problems as a slick boxing type, then think about what Floyd will do to him.
