porter thought he could out muscle brook because he was used to bum rushing guys and had success doing it. he ran into a wall vs brook. ugas is the same size as brook porter tried to switch it up from his usual style and failed. mikey is smaller and the fight would play out differently as I believe porter would go back to his nfl blitz style of fighting hahaha!
Errol Spence's Stock Will Drop If.......

true porter is not a devastating puncher. he wears down and tries to outwork his opponents. mikey is accurate but he himself is not a big puncher at the lower weights of 135 and 140. porter's chin has been tested by bigger punchers like thurman and danny garcia.Comment

If Errol wins a close decision his stock will drop. Losing a couple rounds or it being competitive won’t do that for me since Mikey even with the size disadvantage is very skilledComment

So your fishing for a scenario where Spence wins but at the same time looks bad?
- Spence gets dropped
- Spence shows heavy visible damage to the face
- Spence getting backed up
- Spence not being able to stop Garcia's gameplan
- Bad scorecards
- Spence getting visibly frustratedComment

And he learned the lesson in the Brook fight. After the fight, Porter commented that he never knew that Brook was that strong and that people underrate Brook's strength.Brook is stronger than both DSG and Ugas and he still tried to fight his usual style against him. I really do think he's been trying to fight a bit different and trying to box more, but he's just not as effective doing that. But good point on Ugas/DSG having the strength to hold their own against Porter.
PS. I'll admit I never watched the Brook fight, but I did watch the highlights and from the highlights Porter appeared to be fighting the same style he did against Garcia and Ugas. He was using his feet alot and trying that Bob and weave thing, but Brook kept catching him as he was trying to get out.Comment

Porter really aint that big or that strong either.
He is the same height as Mikey, and Brook, Ugas, and Garcia all proved themselves to be physically stronger than him. I'm pretty sure Crawford and Spence are also stronger than him.
People mistake aggression for strength. He is very aggressive, and of course he is on the stronger side it terms of physical strength, but most of the elite in the division are stronger than Porter.Comment

If he just comes in and overpowers him winning via easy KO I don't see his stock dropping or rising. You are supposed to KO guys that are multiple divisions lower. Consider their natural weights are 5 divisions and 21 lbs apart with Garcia currently being a lightweight and Spence a junior middleweight still making welter.
I think if Spence can outbox Garcia at least and show superior skill and technique then that's his shot. People were impressed by Loma just completely outskilling and beating Rigo (that was a smaller size difference than Spence-Garcia too) and were indifferent when GGG just steamrolled Brook.Comment

I don't think either guy's stock will drop unless Spence loses by KO or there is an Adelaide Byrd 118-110 scorecard.
This is a fight between 2 of the top p4p fighters in the world. If it turns out to be a close fight that Spence is forced to work to pull out, that shouldn't cause his stock to drop.
What is truly annoying about NSB is the tendency to let the very dumbest posters (not the TS) and those that are only casual "star fighter" fans drive the narratives. The "Brook exposed GGG" talk was just utterly ******ed. Brook was doing well and eventually GGG powered through and won convincingly. That doesn't mean he was exposed. Same with Charlo/Korobov.
Sometimes fights don't go like they are expected to "on paper". If a fighter who is a big favorite finds himself in a tougher than expected fight and guts out a win fairly that should be confirmation that the boxer has the goods, not evidence of exposure.Comment

If Spence loses its because Mikey is a great fighter not because he is a hype job and or a fraud.Comment
