Errol Spence's Stock Will Drop If.......

Alright, let's be real, plenty of you guys are ready to kill Spence and drop his stock even if he wins and struggles a bit. So to you, what exactly will drop it? Loss aside, so in this hypothetical it is him winning.

Would it be if it goes to a decision? Would it be if he loses more than two rounds? What will constitute "See, I knew Spence was overrated! I knew he has a trash resume' and will get destroyed by Crawford or Thurman!"?

Personally? I see this being very competitive in the first six rounds and then Spence taking over and getting a 8th or 9th round stoppage in a good hard fought fight.

He's seriously in a no win situation. Imagine (which I doubt), if Mikey wins. He will be labelled a fraud and overrated bum.

    I'm rooting for the underdog.

    War Mikey!!

It has to be a demolition job. Ggg and lomachenko made easy work of their smaller opponents and the size difference in this one is even bigger. If he wants to be considered an elite fighter like them two then he should have no difficulties against a lightweight. If its.a competitive fight past the halfway point then hes been exposed as not being a p4p level fighter.

it elevates him with a win. i see him stopping him in 7, but garcia is a legit guy even with the weight factor. and he's real serious and will be his best. spence will earn credit with a win.

I'm in this line of thinking. Mikey going up to WW is not the same as Brook going up to MW or Rigo going up to 130. Mikey actually won a title at 140 last year and has been mostly fighting at that weight class since he returned from his 2 year hiatus. Rigo nor Brook ever did anything at a weight class lower than the one they ended up fighting at. Mikey to me also would beat guys like Porter and DSG so that's where I rank him. Spence would get more credit for beating those two, but in reality I think Garcia is better than those two and would beat those two.

He could well struggle for 3-4 rounds the bigger man often does but if he's not got full control by say 5 its a bad look.

Really looking how small Mikey is he should have him out within 5-6 tops.

If this is remotely anything like Crawford vs Gamboa his stock should rightfully take a massive hit.

based on what? porter's size and rough house tactics would give mikey trouble porter would bully him all over the ring. mikey doesn't have the strength to keep porter off him.

Porter hasn't even been fighting that style lately. If he tries this new style where he sits back? Mikey out boxes him fairly easy. Now, I do agree it would be interesting if Porter just tried to bully Mikey, but I tend to think that plays in Mikey's counter punching style. Spence is a pressure fighter but he doesn't go in there recklessly and works off his jab. He can at least keep Mikey at bay, while Porter is just coming with that rough wild sh^t that he typically does.

Did Crawford's stock take a hit from that fight? A lot of people and writers/websites/magazines have him P4P #1 in the world.
