They are really messing up with the promotion. It's almost as if they didn't want anyone to watch it. With the good matchups boxing has had lately, boxing should be dominating the airwaves. Especially since this season in sports is slow until match madness.

Beating Uzcategui was big, hopefully he rolls over the Subway dude, but if he can beat David Benevidez for the WBC, and/or beat Callum Smith for the WBA, you'd have a big Southern white American fighter who may just be the best 168lb fighter in the world.
Put him in good fights from then on, and he just might break through with those kind of viewership numbers.Comment

You are partially right; Especially of you live in the U.S. You have to purchase a special converter box in order to receive your local channels or subscribe to a basic cable package in order to receive your local channels that way.Comment

What a damn shame? You have a free television network that could reach an estimated 120mil homes and your average audience is only 1.6mil viewers That's worst than pay television. Moreover, HBO and Showtime are premium cable television networks. Could you name another network show that has done worse than this one?Comment

The problem is on the West Coast the fights start at 5 pm. That seems too early of a start time. ESPN shows usually start around 7 close to prime time. Go look at all of ESPN shows that don't involve Crawford or Loma. They barely get a million views in prime time and usually with a lead in game. The problem with Fox is they gotta start their shows too early so it won't interfere with the news on the West Coast, cards are usually over by 8 prime time.Comment

Excellent point. I hope FOX continues as well, with a new contract, with more money added. Boxing is big business now and FOX will have to cough up some more money and to add to that, haymon is going to have to get more prospects....and they don’t have to be American either....he should look to sign British, Canadians, Australians, South Africans, Nigerians, etc etc. Haymon will have to do his homework to counter the hundreds of millions dazn is pouring into the sport
However, Al needs a matchmaker. The fighters shouldn't be able to pick and choose who and when they are going to fight. HBO drew the line on that several years ago and if the PBC isn't careful then Fox sports are going to do the same exact thing by playing promoter too by making match ups that is better suited for the viewers and sponsors.Comment

I absolutely agree! As a matter of fact he is already is in the process of doing just that because Manny Pacquiao is moving his entire stable of fighters from the Philippines to the PBC. So Al Haymon is expanding his talent roster even as we speak.

... If he can fight.

I think this is a weakness of not being an actual promoter and being an manager/advisor for haymon. It’s true he does the best for his fighters but perhaps he does too much for his fighters and not enough for the fans? You’re right, he does need a matchmaker and that seems to be what’s missing right now. I think the matchups were actually better in the 2015-2016 PBC years when we were seeing wars on free tv. After April, if we are not seeing compelling matchups on FOX I agree, they will have to sit down with him and talk about how to get regular viewership at 2.5m and up.
Legally he is a career advisor but secretly he moonlights as a boxing promoter. Since it's his company he needs to come out and promote his own fighters and stop hiding behind these figure head puppet promoters with no real power at all.
Unlike, Don King he is trying to avoid unnecessary scrutiny for himself; Because when you are different a (African American) you stand out and when you stand out you become an easy target.Comment
