I just think that if you're doing a deal on a massive scale (in any business setting, not just boxing) follow the formula that has been laid down and followed countless times before. Don't try to reinvent the wheel.

    That would mean:
    • Offer
    • Acceptance
    • Send draft contract
    • Negotiate terms
    • Complete deal

Just like any other boxing match. I see absolutely no sensible reason for diverting from that path, given the huge amounts of money involved.

But, as I've said and as you think as well, neither party was absolutely committed to making that fight at that time anyway, and (provided Wilder and AJ don't lose) they and their clients will be the richer for it
Depends on the size of the fight. For big fights the draft contract is developed jointly with each side knowing where all the projected revenue is going. There's no sending draft contracts back and forth. That's how co-promotion deals are built and fight revenue is maximized.

Maybe it's Wilder realizing his value or maybe he knows if a PPV centered around him tanks it'll weaken his position at the negotiating table. Maybe it's a little of both.

Whyte was tired after working the whole fight. Which isn't surprising considering he only had a 6 week camp.

Glad you have the confidence in Wilder he doesn't have in himself. It's fact he turned down his biggest payday. It's fact he told Whyte he'd make him wait for 2 years before fighting him. Wilder clearly sees Whyte as too much for him. Just as he saw the best in the weight class being too much for him so decided on fighting bums his whole career.

Wilder is a punk who will be dealt with soon. Just as a 50% version of Fury dealt with him only for American corruption to come into play like it always does. When a top fighter is fit and ready to go, Wilder is going bye bye.

And for the record, neither side agreed to the offer, neither side got a contract. No one draws up a contract for offers that haven't been accepted.
No one agrees to a 50 mil offer and an industry record deal without a meeting but here we are. Also what you say is not strictly true as often draft contracts are sent in many sectors of business before agreeing a deal, you must not know this.

Wilder said he didn't care what Hearn was offering he was fighting Fury as he had unfinished business which is fair enough so you don't need to defend and change the timeline like you're trying.

Whyte isn't good enough to be ducked. He's a c grade domestic level fighter.

IN YOUR OPINION... and a ton of others, granted.... Wilder lost. In the record books, Fury could not close the deal, as couldn't Wilder. So, Wilder has the title. While I hate titles, the vast majority of the sporting world still recognize them as important. So, Joshua and Wilder have to be 1-2 if you are talking what is universally recognized. Your point about 3 of the top 5 being Brits is completely undeniable, though. I mean seriously, 2 of the top 3 are from the Grand Island. I wish the Wilder/Fury rematch was happening, but since it isn't- Joshua, Wilder, Fury (lineal champ, which I also think is worthless but is still recognized), Whyte, and Ortiz are most likely the most accepted HW rankings right now.

Arguing small points I know. I actually get it if you personally have Fury ahead of Wilder (I personally have Ortiz ahead of Whyte), but Universally most wouldn't.

“Pay-Per-View for me is definitely those big moments, those special magical moments for fights that people have to see. Breazeale don’t fit that bill,” - put that in a TV ad asking fans to pay 74.99 for the fight lol

Hilarious that you think Bob Arum was going to pay Wilder $12.5m for his mandatory, pay Breazeale his purse, and not put that fight on ESPN PPV, lol.

                    But continue with your lies.
$50m for those three fights is still short, and it might be short for Joshua too.

Even if all Wilder sees on the Breazeale fight, Wilder-Joshua is going to be windfall for both fighters; a million PPV buys is the baseline expectation at this point, with the likelihood that it just might break further.

And if the first fight is as thrilling as everyone seems to think the styles will make it, the rematch is even bigger.

Wilder is giving up 40%-45% of the Joshua PPV, and 50% of a Joshua2 PPV for $35m? lol

Your spot on Ake-Dawg. Is that 60-40 deal accurate? Doubt it! Hearn is no fool. He is trying to sign Wilder for a reason.
