as of the article, it's his mandatory but i'm curious to how the WBC will handle the Dillian Whyte situation. if they screw that up, they could get sued, and rightfully so. they'll probably have to pay whyte step aside money or make him the mandatory and rule that he must fight for the belt within one year or something.
They have had two situations in recent years where someone was made mandatory without fighting, but in both of those cases the fights were signed, and subsequently cancelled. The first was Povetkin - Stiverne when Povetkin failed a drug test, and Stiverne was awarded the mandatory spot. The second was when Stiverne and Breazeale were due to fight, and Ortiz failed a drug test. Leading to Stiverne getting his mandatory shot, and Breazeale given a replacement fight.Comment

You'd think a boxing media guy with nothing to lose or looking to become legit would do a deep dive into the corruption in all of them that could potentially do some damage to them or get them knocked off completely. Boxing would be better for it I know that much.Comment

My apologies; I was mistaken. The fight is not going to purse bid since both fighters fight under the same banner which is the PBC. Therefore, a purse bid would probably be very unlikely.Comment
