    Matchmaking / By Age 23: Floyd vs Canelo resumes

    By 23 here are former Champions whom Floyd had on his resume:

    Age 32: Genaro Hernandez, who lost his 0 against DLH. Seasoned Super Feather
    Age 30: Vargas, seasoned Feather

    Champions who Floyd fought after whom were undefeated;

    Diego Corrales, Hatton, Canelo

    ——————————-

    By 23, here’s former Champions Canelo had on his resume:

    Baldomir: 39
    N’Dou: 39
    Cintron:32
    Mosley: 41
    Trout: 27 Undefeated

    Champions who Canelo fought thereafter, Undefeated;

    Liam Smith, Golovkin

    ——————————

    X-Factor in difficulty imo is Trout (27) Undefeated vs Hernandez (32) 1 loss

    ——————————

    Canelo has the opportunity to fight Undefeated Champion Andrade.

    Canelo now at 28, how many more fights facing Undefeated foes?

    —————————

    To Conclude:

    Floyd chose to defend his 147 WBC with former Featherweight Champ Guerrero when knowing Canelo had the 154 WBC strap from 2011-2013.

    Knowing Canelo has trouble making 154 since Cintron to Mosley and Trout’s 153.5 Catchweight, Floyd knew 152 would be more dentrimental to Saul Alvarez. Canelo Haters don’t like to bring up Tank Davis who proves weight on the scales is a challenge...

    Truth is Floyd was scared to fight Canelo at 154.

    Floyd had no problem fighting Cotto and DLH at the full 154. How many defenses did Floyd make at 154 to begin with?

    big canelo fan here, but we need to let it go, floyd is p4p the better fighter than canelo, he is clearly a level above...
    canelo shouldnt have taken the fight at the time if he felt he was at disadvantage, just like dany garcia didnt...

        Didn't read past the title because they had VERY different starts and amateur backgrounds, so why would age 23 have any relevance to anything unless you were just trying to spin some narrative?

          Dumb Floydtards think that draining you 2 pounds makes no difference , Thats how I know these low IQ boxing people have never box trust me 1 pound can break you happen to me when I was an amateur I fought weight drain and had no legs so my next fight I move up to the next weight class even though i was out weighed by 3 to 4 pounds just couldn't make 112 anymore so I went to 119 even though I fought at about 115 in tournaments

                  So did Pac, Margarito, and Barrera. None of them were as skilled as the Mayweather pedigree. By 16 Floyd was sparring with elites like Whittaker. We knows Floyd was groomed for boxing since 3 years old, his POV was saturated with it.

                  Margarito had ver Frankie Randall on his resume by 23.
                  Pac had Barrera on his resume by 23.
                  Barrera had 9 title defenses of the WBO by 23 until Junior Jones came to show up.

                  I don’t recall any of these fighters being pressured into a catchweight by 23 as Floyd did to Canelo. I doubt Tank Davis could’ve fought Pedraza at 128lbs weighin limit given how this youngster too consistently has a hard time on the scales

                    Because matchmaking is talked about. If Canelo wasn’t a threat given who he had fought Floyd would’ve Canelo at the full 154 since he did with Cotto and De La Hoya. Canelo had trouble making 154 since Cintron-Lopez. Trout’s bout was at a 153.5 limit. Floyd then took it even further to 152. Floyd didn’t call out Canelo’s 154 WBC since 2011-2013, and then even after Cotto he went to fight Guerrero at 147...a former Featherweight, again, to then “defend” his 154 Super WBA and unify with Caneo at 152. Floyd was shook.

                    Even more, when you do 2.2 million PPV with Canelo, and claim to be the money man, yet didn’t Challenge Canelo even at 155 when the Mexican took Cotto’s Middleweight strap. So from 2013-2015 Floyd didn’t want another run with Canelo. Less than 2 years. If Canelo was so easy, Floyd would’ve obliged for an even bigger PPV and a 6 Division Champion.
