Name the fights you feel Canelo shouldnt have got the W for?

    no hating wanted just opinions

    IMO he lost to:

    Trout
    Mayweather
    Lara
    Coto
    GGG
    GGG

He gets this IMO cos Nelo brings money to the sport, judges, venue, cities, promoters, etc
so its in the judges best interest to favour nelo in fights

and im sure GB give their helping hand

    ALL IMO OF COURSE

Lost 2X to GGG, Mayweather, Lara IMO all clearly and Trout barely. I felt he beat Cotto pretty clearly.

He didn't get a W for the first Golovkin fight but he didn't get the deserved L either. That fight was a clear win for Golovkin.

I had him winning both the Trout and Lara fights but those were so close a draw or loss would hardly be robbery. I thought he lost the second Golovkin fight also but again, I didn't think the result was a robbery.

        Cotto

        Lara

        GGG

Hardcore fans are fairly aware that Canelo lost to both Lara and GGG, but it's almost like barely anybody gives Cotto just due for outboxing Canelo. Every time I mention it, crickets. I still don't get how anyone justifies Cotto outlanding Canelo so much and blocking/avoiding countershots, and somehow still think Canelo won. The only argument I've heard is that the few shots Canelo would land every now and then counted for like 20 Cotto shots LOL.

Cotto won that fight, man. The boxing world just didn't want to see Cotto win, and they ran with the favorite. Even the Mexican telecast had Cotto winning.

well he didnt get a W against money.. and rightfully so. Young canelo was exposed as very limited back then by floyd.

IMO he decisioned trout closely, the problem with that fight was the open scoring rule and the dismay it caused when people saw the scoring disparity between what everyone saw through rounds 5 thru 8, to what the judges saw.

canelo won, but by no means was it a wide UD like the scorecards said.

Lara i had as a draw, he outlanded canelo but alvarez did much more work to the body, and tbh the cut on lara probably didnt sway the one judge who had it in the bag for canelo from round one. i think one judge had it like... 118-110 or 117-111 or some ****? crazy.

          draw for me.

He beat cotto, the scores were absolute rubbish but the right man won that fight.

GGG i had him losing in fight #1 by 2 rounds. but again... canelo, judges , crowd etc etc. Id like to say i can see swing rounds to call that a draw but.. at most i still have ggg by a round.

          loss.

GGG #2 Canelo outworked him, cut off the ring well and turned the stalker into the stalked. i had him up by 2 on my card.

I remember hearing Nacho Beristain had Cotto winning too and Marquez had it a draw. I'd have to watch it again but it was a boring fight. Either way he wasn't as dominant as he should have been. A lot of folks that build that up for Canelo completely criticized Pacquaio's Cotto performance because it was at a CW one whole pound lower than Cotto's previous fight and I think Cotto was far better in 2009 as a welterweight in his 20's rather than as a washed up middleweight in his 30's also at catch weight. I also think Pacquaio's win was far more dominant and impressive.

No way in hell did Cotto win on any card. That was a relatively easy fight to score with the closest card being 7-5 for Canelo.

I thought he lost the second GGG fight.

I had him 6-6 against Trout with the KD being the difference and 7-5 against Lara.

Mayweather and GGG I were definite losses in my eyes

He edged Trout (the KD was the difference for me)

                He clearly beat Cotto IMO

I had the Lara and GGG II fights as draws

I actually thought his first fight with GGG was a lot closer than a lot of people think it was. I had no problem with a draw in fact.

2nd GGG was still close, but I feel that Canelo deserved the win.

Trout was close, but a clean win.

Mayweather was a clear loss. He maybe won 1 or 2 rounds.

Cotto was a clear win. If Cotto was bigger and younger, that win might’ve been a loss. Cotto did good work, it’s just that Canelo was bigger and more powerful and his punches showed that.

A lot of his higher profile fights have been close. Jacobs fight will probably be no different.

The thing with Canelo, is that he has a judge friendly style and his defense isn’t half bad. He isn’t a 1 punch KO guy, but he has power. He also has a very wide punch selection, which I think the judges notice as well and they take that into consideration. He can mix it up well. Of all the current top boxers, he probably get the award for the most improved over the past 5 years.
