Nah...I think the heavy fanaticism for individual fighters is killing boxing. It has to be generational or something. Few just want to see good fights. Many want to see their guy on top. As long as people support mismatches and allow race, nationality, and other non sports related factors impact where their support lies, we will get this crap.

So upon further reflection I don’t think what Fury did was out of “fear” per se... I think this was his way of securing his bag. Think of it like this.... he rematches wilder and loses, what happens then? his stock goes way down, and you can kiss a Joshua fight goodbye or any major fight good bye. So what does he do? He secures the bag with ESPN making sure for his future and family’s sake that their taken cared of first and foremost if the wilder or Joshua fight comes it comes.
