Peter: "I Will Put Toney Through Hell"

If, as a Wlad fan, you want Peter to KO Toney just to make the win Wlad holds over him look better, then deep down inside you know that Wlad's win over Peter wasn't that great.

....uh no!!!! His win over Peter was big and it will be even more evident when Sam destoys Toney. It will also quiet all the "Toney is too skilled for Peter" folks. My only concern is if Peter gets frustrated with Toney's style and quits mentaly before he wears Toney down. How many fights does Toney have left in him? He looked like crap against Rahman and was hitable. Peter is a harder puncher than the Rock and he will find Toney eventually. All the slipping and shoulder rolling in the world won't save him in this one. I hope!!! It's going to be a great fight regardless and this is one that I definitely won't miss. I would buy the PPV at $100 for this fight.

pinpoint counterpunching will take apart even the guys with the sturdiest of chins, its not the power of toneys punch that hurts opponents. it is the timing and precision that many opponents dont expect and cannot prepare for. sam peter is no different, when he gets hit with shots he doesent see coming they will affect him, and they will back him off.

co-sign....punches hitting you cleanly in the face affect you...no matter who the **** you are. they may not hurt him at any point in the fight (toney aint hurtin peter) but they will make him change his mind about opening up and throwing caution to the wind.

once sam peter comes into a fight using a double jab and shows some signs of strategy then this could be correct.

rahman landed maybe 1 or 2 memorable power shots upstairs and the rest were jabs and punches landed on toney back. he set up his 1 or 2 good power shots upstairs by using a long double jab and distance. peter will do nothing that resembles this.

The problem I think is how's Peter gonna land anything clean? Peter is a far less accurate puncher than the other guys Toney has fought as a HW, and he cant even throw a lotta punches.

rahman has power though right? why didn't he just simply knock toney out then by punching over his right hand counters? why didn't he throw caution to the wind and start launching a power punching assault? why didn't he get inside and maul toney with power shots?

because toneys multiple right hand counters had him keeping distance and had him trying to use strategy to win...as opposed to brute force.

once peter figures out that toneys punches are actually starting to wear on him and he finds out that his wide punches have nothing for toneys defense, he'll become discouraged.

toney will be able to see his wide ass hooks coming like he was neo from the mf'ing matrix

here he is with a cash cow knockout machine like sam peter and what does he do??

makes the two worst possible matchups for his fighter in the two biggest fights of his career. not to mention he essentially tuned up for this toney fight against a guy more than a foot taller than james with nothing that resembles boxing ability.

i mean cmon, put peter in with anyone but toney or klitshko right now and he probably wins, there just isnt anyone else with the ring skill or physical strength to keep Sam Peter (at a decent weight) off of them for the entire fight.

I agree. he was way too green for klit. the skill level and jab of wlad wore him down and peter was almost stopped in that last round and probably would have been if wlad wasnt so cautious. wasnt a wise decision by them as peter hadnt fought anyone near wlads strength and skill level before that fight. now he's faced with the opposite problem. a defensive whiz that makes you miss and counters. bad styles matchup here
