Floyd hasn’t fought a boxer since 2015. Ward will have gone three years without a fight

It’s fighter of the decade. Are you aware what a decade is?

Barrera had been in numerous brutal wars by 2003. Isn't that your logic for a fighter being past it? He absolutely was not in his physical peak in 2003.

Marquez has a better argument but at age 35 and 15 years a pro he had slipped slightly physically from the fighter he was a few years prior.
now you're just getting emotional. We saw how their careers went, we saw what they did after Pacquiao had beaten them. They did greater things after Pacquiao had beaten them, they still KO'ed guys, and still become top elite fighters of the sport.

Barrera was still "prime" enough that he still went on to have more wars, more belts after Pacquiao bludgeoned him.

Marquez was still "prime" enough that he went on to have more wars, take more scalps, and won 2 more belts at 2 weight classes after Pacquiao beat him.

Not remotely emotional. Asking a genuine question as you seem to genuinely not realise (or remember) it was you that brought up P4P rankings as reasoning to then shut it down as reasoning in your very next post.

No neither were prime. A lot left in the tank? Yes.

        Prime? No.

You can spin it however you want. You spin everything to suit your agenda in the most transparent way

He fought Corrales in 2001. Just the facts.

my bad. the same decade we saw him lose to Castillo. And fumble through a fight w/ Coke-head De La Hoya.

People will say it was a better decade for him than this one. But Since 2000 he's beaten Mosley, Cotto and Canelo. None of those guys were at their peak, but we saw the genius of Money Mayweather against men bigger than himself.

Obviously nothing on his resume matches what Lomachenko has done. But Lomachenko has talent in spades. Floyd's an example of making optimal use of a sub-optimal situation.

It's impressive you could type that - and without typos! considering my spunks had sealed your eyes shut.

Ok, now I know for sure you're just trying to bait. I attempted to discuss this rationally with facts but you'd obviously rather troll.

                Have fun with that.

You mean take a title fight in his 2nd professional bout?

Yup! Floyd definitely was a ***gyt. Probably had the most coddled career since Young Stribling.

You mean fight a man bigger than himself?

Yeah, that's true. I forgot what lengths floyd would go to to fight smaller men... we never even seen Lomachenko cut weight.

You mean agree to terms unfavorable to himself because he's a true Boxer and part of a people with honor and culture?

Yes, that's also obviously true. Lomachenko is Ukrainian. We remember how there were not many champs like Mayweather when the Irish, ***s, Italians, and other Europeans needed Boxing to elevate themselves. We look at Mayweather's personal life or the Marque fiasco, and we can see the damage had from being foreign to those things. Mayweather, while very talented, was left intrinsically insecure.

You mean, figure out how to adapt to a difficult situation by doing something more than hugging, or running away?

OK, that's also very true. While Mayweather could adapt to rather one-dimensional fighters, it was mostly to safety-first approach, as he knew he could always rely on the judges.

You mean survive severe adversity and still hunt for the kill?

Damn. You nailed it again. Loma might be one fighter who has SUFFERED for the loss of the championship rounds. There's no way, despite his cheating, size and experience advantage that Salido would have lasted 15 rounds that night. Once Loma found his path to victory, he was a man possessed.

Mayweather, took body shots from McGregor and Judah and we got WWE Level acting.
Forget about Mayweather hating body shots. We know that Hatton, Corrales and Canelo would have beaten Mayweather if they could have gotten away with the fouls Salido pulled against Lomachenko. Mayweather just can;t handle that kinda adversity.

Do you mean be man enough to accept responsiblity for his shortcomings, rather than cast blame?

Bingo! That's correct, too. You better play the lotto tonight! You're hitting them out of the park!

Salido should have been DQ'd - on more than one occassion. At the absolute very least, Salido should have been docked 3 or 4 points. The fouling was atrocious. But Lomachenko preferred to focus on the fact that he held back too much. I agree, it's true. He could have let his hands go more and earlier. But he fought smart. And he definitely won that fight. That was some of the worst officiating I've ever seen. Horrific. But lomachenko was all class. He took the high road. And that's why he has the respect that Mayweather never has and never will.

Damn. You're spot on, baby! Way to go!

Uh... I am not sure what's trolling.

Do you really think Mayweather is a top 10 Welterweight? He went undefeated for years. Castillo and Maidana came close. But no one ever actually beat him.

                    Is anyone dis*****g this?

Lomachenko is the best we've seen since Duran. Look at how he masterclassed Rigo, and worked Linares and Pedraza. That's something Floyd couldn't pull off. But Floyd is getting discussed here in contention for FOTD, just the same.

The best win Ward had out of the super 6 was Kessler, and that was in 2009 so can't be counted.

Kovalev beat Ward in their first fight. Kovalev was very good, I think he was better than prime Froch for sure. But again, he beat Ward.

I'd like to think that things like P4P lists and FOTY and FOTD accolades would filter through corrupt or incompetent outcomes. If a fighter gets given the benefit of a bad (corrupt or incompetent) decision, then this should be taken into account.

It is bad enough that those kinds of things happen, without boxing fans dignifying it.

So Ward and Canelo immediately get marked down for that. I can't see how they could get named FOTD. Not by actual boxing fans.
                      When did this happen?
