Whilst most other sports have cleaned up there act and become fairer its safe to say boxing hasnt. But is the corruption as bad as its ever been when u consider the Olympic boxing scandal and the fact that there seems to be controversy and wild scorecards in most fights now involving a home fighter/A side? Theres been whole cards all the way from top to bottom with crazy scorecards. Its not human error when you can see the controversy coming a mile off. Has it ever been this bad through history? Its almost impossible for some fighters to lose a decision now.
Has boxing ever been more corrupt than it is now?

Hard to say. If it's a 50/50 fight or even 60/40 fight it ALWAYS goes in favour of the richer/more famous/A-side boxer if it's in their home country. Always.
It's like they expect us not to notice even after it happens 100 times out of 100, a complete and utter statistical anomally or a more logical reason - corruption.Comment

this guy cant be serious. every single ranking and title used to be bought and sold. the mob controlled every title for decades. judges used to be picked and paid by the promoter instead of the commission. boxing used to be wayyyyy worse.Comment

as long as the lead promoter continues to choose and pay the judges it will continue to be corrupt. the only real risk is getting ko'd and a lot of a-side guys make sure they don't take risks so it hurts the entertainment value as well. it also makes the best fights harder to make because guys know without that a-side control the chances of losing skyrocket so you see wilder trying to get joshua over to be on his show or joshua trying to get wilder over on his show. you see guys like ward refusing to fight unless they have that control. that control is everything. if you dont have it you are nothing.Comment

they just moved saunders into the top 2 at 168 after fighting a nobody and after getting caught cheating at 160. he's now fighting some random unknown guy for a title. just bad rankings and crazy coincidences....sure. tank davis got a title shot against cellar who was coming off a loss and never foght at 130. thats not corruption...its just we really really like tank davis and want him to succeed! isnt this just semantics?
and they are still picked and paid by the promoter. the promoter gives a list to the commission and the commission picks from that list but every single judge is pre-approved by the promoter. the promoter gives the check to the commission and the commission gives it to the judges.
they want you to think its so much better but that wallpapering is so transparent.Last edited by daggum; 02-21-2019, 05:55 PM.Comment

That is ridiculous for sure. Shameful but I don't know. I guess I've considered boxing to be that way for so long that no one cares anymore.they just moved saunders into the top 2 at 168 after fighting a nobody and after getting caught cheating at 160. he's now fighting some random unknown guy for a title. just bad rankings and crazy coincidences....sure. tank davis got a title shot against cellar who was coming off a loss and never foght at 130. thats not corruption...its just we really really like tank davis and want him to succeed! isnt this just semantics?
