Great point...except that the promoter does NOT choose and pay the judges. The sanctioning body chooses the judges, and they are paid by the athletic commission.

Boxing id still corrupt, but its more around drugs in the modern era.

When the mob ran boxing you could enter the ring with a pair of chainsaws and still lose a UD...

its depressingly bad these days, scorecards are constantly manipulated to engineer the desired outcome, they roll out the same BS officials for years on end in some towns (vegas), someone is getting rich

Another example of picking one part of a complex situation and saying in effect that the rest of that situation is irrelevant. Thanks for providing an example in support of what I was saying.

What is there really to analyse, this is the problem with a lot of you pseudo experts, try and over complicate things to try and sound clever and justify dumb scoring. He landed 1 of every 10 shots thrown and landed half the punches of his opponent, sorry if i sound like a casual in your eyes but its 'hit and not get hit' well horn didnt hit and he got hit twice as much. Things like ring generalship etc dont matter if u land half the damn punches of your opponent.

Where do your figures come from? One persons opinion? We are talking about pro boxing too not amateur where the number of punches is more definitive. Sorry, like it or not scoring can be complex and I'd prefer the final determination involving a significant number of officials with no obvious bias. Even if the decision was against my pick.
