In other words, he is saying that he fears that Tyson Fury might get knocked out or seriously hurt by Deontay Wilder. That's what he wants to say. That's why he scrapped the purse bid and subsequently the rematch.

ESPN want quality fights not just Arum In House BS!
If what you say is true than ESPN will offer Wilder more than he was projected to earn on Showtime.

I think he is right and ESPN can pay Wilder his 75 bucks.

ESPN is making the Decisions at the end of the day and Arum kinda confirmed that when talking about GGG and how "ESPN Cut Off Negotiations With GGG". So yeah they have the final say as to where their money is going of course

ESPN and DAZN want BIG FIGHTS on their Platform, this is not Charity, they make these big investments with the hopes for BIG RETURNS and the only way to get Big Returns is to have BIG FIGHTS

Arum didn't say that Wilder's expectations were unrealistic and he hasn't scrapped the purse bid. How could he when the WBC haven't even ordered it yet?

You are wrong! Arum is on record stating that the WBC doesn't have to dictate the rematch. That's why the two sides currently are not in negotiations for the rematch in the WBC's purse bid because Arum wants Deontay Wilder to leave Showtime and Haymon and fight for him on ESPN. If that's his thinking then he must be seriously out of his Goddamned mind because no one dictates terms and conditions to the champion. Therefore, if Fury still really wants the fight then he would do so on Team Wilder's terms because Deontay owe's him nothing.

Wilder and Fury had come very close to agreeing on terms for the rematch before Bob Arum stuck his nose in.

So it will be hilarious if Arum suddenly starts talking about Wilder "pricing himself out."

The WBC had indeed ordered the rematch for Wilder/Fury II. It was for a 60/40 split for the champion. The two sides had reached a tentative agreement for May 18 at MSG before Bob stepped in to sabotage the date and the purse bid altogether. Arum said while they are still interested in challenging Deontay Wilder; However it won't be on the WBC's terms. It would be on ESPN's terms.

Arum hasn't said they won't take part in a purse bid, and the reason a bid hasn't been called is because both sides asked for it to be postponed so they could negotiate a deal.

Wilder isn't in any position to dictate anything to anybody. He is damaged goods with no credibilty as a legit champion outside of the LDBC and the rest of his deluded, reality denying fanboys.

It will be hilarious, and nobody will laugh louder than me. Pricing himself out is Wilder's speciality!
