i always thought about it was a person who could move up/down weight classes and still win. aka mayweather, winky, probally JT, prob calzag. but this is a reason why i cant put pac on there because if pac moves up, i see him losing. anyone?
I personally go with skills, this is what P4P should be, it's all about skills.

You need someone of similar skills to test your skills againts though. Otherwise your skills are either wasted or just over- exaggerated

He wasn't getting any titles moving up?

No my friend that's a big mistake. Pacman is a 2 divisional Champ. He was a former WBC Flyweight Champ. On his first U.S. fight, he mauled Lebwada (a P4P fighter) in 6 rounds to win the IBF Super Bantam Weight belt and capture his second division title.

Later on he decided to fight at 126. On his first fight at feather, he mauled the reigning no 1 p4p fighter in the division in the person of MAB into submission.

              The rest is history.

P4P doesn't mean anything to me. You are what you are. If you are small, then you are small and will be at a disadvantage when fighting someone bigger. An ant is p4p the strongest thing on earth, but so what? We can easily crush it.

to me "A is p4p better than B" means a pound of fighter A beats a pound of fighter B" (scale them to the same size and put them in the ring) so among active fighters I would guess it is Floyd Mayweather Jr. who is kicking asses in his 4th weight class.

The flaw to this argument is that a flyweight will never fight a cruiserweight, for example. So, how do you compare these two? You imagine them as being the same size and fighting in a fair fight. Who would you pick, all else being equal, Floyd Patterson or Sugar Ray Robinson? What about between Finito Lopez and Roy Jones Junior? Mike Tyson vs Julio Cesar Chavez? Since these fighters would never actually square against each other, you'd have to imagine them doing so and pit skill against skill. That being the case, I'd have to pick Robinson, Roy Jones, and JC Superstar, but only because the skills those fighters demonstrated were far superior to those who fought at the same time.

That being that, I'd pick PBF over anyone currently fighting at any weight division, hence he's my P4P #1 fighter.

What is so hard about you trying to compare Calzaghes style to Pac? I could picture Pac trying to rush him but Calzaghe boxing very well and moving, sort of like JMM did after the 1st round.

I said that there is no one pound for pound who is better then Floyd but I remember wondering back in the day when X beat Hopkins & Tito who would win? I remember saying that if Hopkins was in Floyd's weight class then he would give him trouble. Think about a guy that is Floyd's size but has Hopkins style. Think about Hopkins trying to bully Floyd & rough him up like he did Holmes & Echols.

I dont think its that hard to do personaly

If order to properly perdict a fight, you have to have seen a similar STYLE fight. There are too many style differences between weight classes.

How could you figure out who would win in a fight with Taylor vs Barrera? Have you ever seen Macro be hit so hard that punches go through his gloves into his face?

Have you ever seen featherweights be scared of another featherweights power enough to change their style because of fear of being knocked out? You don't see people like Thomas Hearns in the featherweight division because there is no one in that division that has consistant one punch knockout power. Featherweights can almost always withstand another featherweights power punch...

There are just too many style differences to be able to correctly predict a fight within one another.
