But it is the broadcasters who will suffer in the long run.
... I put it wrong... the fighters, the broadcasters and the promoters are taking the money in the short run... but the true (candid) investors are losing their money... in the long run, the actual sport is losing...
It's not alarming that Canelo didn't do big numbers with Fielding.
Floyd, Oscar, Tyson, Pac.
Pick any PPV star out a hat. All of them do drastically bigger numbers when they have a dance partner. That's just common sense.
Having Canelo on board is huge for DAZN. Surely that can't be denied?
As for GGG, he's near the end but still a big attractive name at DAZN.
Why would G take a 2 or 3 fight deal with DAZN fully knowing that his entire contract would be to build him up only to sacrifice him to Canelo in a fight where he’s years older and needs a knockout to win. He should just go after the other champs. There’s no guarantee Canelo doesn’t drop a belt and avoid the trilogy anyway, contract or not.
