Canelo probably gets half of that budget or something...what else are they doing with that kind of money. Not like they put on massive fights weekly

It’s pretty comparable if you take out 3 fighters
Pretty sure canelo gets 36m per fight so there’s 72m out
If golovkin signs for the 40
And Joshua probably fights twice on dazn (don’t no what his deal is) but there probably another 30-40m

Wouldn’t the major sport leagues just have their own app to be purchased by the public so that they can keep a 100% of the revenue that it brings in. Why partner with a platform when these leagues can get the whole pie to themselves and eliminate the middle man from the equation
... I know all that... But I just can't figure out why DAZN is putting that huge money in the U.S. broadcasting... it's a mystery to me...

In seriously doubt these competing platforms due whats best for the fans and have their marquee fighters fight on a competitors platform helping them out

I view this situation as more of the same of what’s been happening for years the only difference is instead of 2 differnt networks competing now there’s 3 boxing iden****** fighting it out hoping at least 1 buckles
In the near future. I think Theres no way they lend a one of their stars to the other side and help them out. Look at what’s happening with Loma / Crolla situation l. It appears that Arum has no intention of having Loma whos one his prized fighters and a marquee ESPN fighter to and fight on DAZN no matter what even if he loses the purse bid that’s coming up

He should just go after the other champs. There’s no guarantee Canelo doesn’t drop a belt and avoid the trilogy anyway, contract or not.
Yeah he should go after the other champs....but guess what ? All of the champs at Middleweight are over at DAZN

Well, lets hope they put all the money for good fights. Canelo/Jacobs is a good fight and is what they should be aiming for in future fights.

But at the end we need these organizations competing against each other so we can get the best fights and the best price. Monopoly is not good for anyone but the one that controls it.

Don't know why DAZN have a hard time recruiting fighters with that budget.

They don't have to hire big stars. Every fight needs undercards, anyways. Go for names who did well last year. If Ruiz ($100K purse) pulls an upset on Davis, for example, would it be hard to recruit him? No.

How about recruiting names such as Pedraza, Korobov, Derveyanchenko, Brant, Josesito, etc.

For sure and I obviously don’t know sh.it about the inner workings but if they’re spending 200 mill on boxing content , They need like 16-17 million monthly subscribers from the US to just break even

Even if they need those subscribers from all their markets to purchase the app because of boxing that seems like a huge task.

Maybe the intent is to just build it up as much and quickly as possible and try and do a UFC type sale and cash out l. It’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out because there’s no way they can keep spending anywhere near that type of $ and put on the cards they’ve put on so far , thinking that this will be the way for them to be successfull , Even with AJ and Canelo the 2 biggest names in the sport fighting on their platform they need to constantly have big fights ,because right now they don’t have the talent
                  Pool to do that

... Thanks for providing the calculus and the rationale... It may help all the BS members here... (and, maybe, "some" DAZN actual creditors... )

forgot Saunders got stripped. Fair play.

But he did get offered a WBC shot via Charlo.
