Mayweather only looks great beating highly overmatched opponents too. Usually drained(corrales, canelo(green too)), blown up(marquez) and shot(mosley). Most live dogs give him a fight. Seriously, his record is a compilation of hasbeens or drained/blown up fighters. Both pacquiao and oscar(inactivity aside) were about 2 years removed from just being ko'd. He didnt beat Maidana in the first fight neither, and Maidana's accomplishments basically begin and end with Ortiz and Broner.

He still probably has a better resume than Roy, definitely a better legacy, but, Roy was dominating. I dont think Floyd has ever dominated anyone as good as the Hopkins or Reggie Johnson(should have a win vs Toney) that roy fought.

But technically Floyd owns him. RJJ had incredible physical gifts but once time eroded those he became vulnerable in a way Floyd never was.

I'll take Mayweather and I'm a huge Roy Jones fan. Mayweather was so much better at adjusting and figuring his opponents out. Mayweather could fight on the inside, fight at a distance, and he could move. He could win a fight going backwards the entire fight. We've also seen Mayweather have to fight his way out of tough situations.

Roy Jones is probably the most exciting fighter I've ever seen. He could do things that looked impossible. However, the first time he struggled, he got put to sleep, back to back.

Was there ever a scenario from 1990-1997 when James Toney wasn't weight drained?

Muhammad Ali, SRL, Louis, Duran, Prince Naseem, Roy Jones Junior and countless others who kept your eyes glued to the screen. I've always felt like Ali and Jones could have fought just as well and even better than Mayweather but weren't afraid to leave their comfort zone if it meant thrilling the crowd. They were an absolute joy to watch.

Sure, Mayweather was technically better, but he left little for us to look back on and say, "I feel like watching him fight so and so again....that was a great fight!", and it's only going to get worse with time as there's nothing really to rewatch of his collection that holds any real entertainment value.

And don't let the video view counts fool you either, he fought in the YouTube era, no one is rewatching his fights, the numbers have stayed fairly static. Why do you think he has to keep doing silly exhibition fights? He knows he's fading into obscurity. I'll take 10 seconds of Naseem vs Kelley, 10 seconds of Duran vs SRL and 10 seconds of Ali vs Frazier over the entire Mayweather fight collection. He really was a colossal bore.

Mayweather really wasn't boring at all at 140 lbs and below. So a good 9 years worth of fights.

Muhammad Ali and Roy Jones had their share of boring fights too.

                  So you're wrong basically.
