he got a debatable win against porter so it was always in doubt. crawford and spence seem like too much for him so i think he hurts himself so he can fight a tune up every year and avoid the crushing loss to his ego

Haha that's pretty harsh. Maybe he could work some sort of deal like Andre Ward had for Kovalev? Thurman has no "adjust to new weight" excuse, but it would be nice to know that he actually plans to fight a top dog within the next 12 months since he's chasing old guys and journeymen.

i think some people didn't read the article or lopez statement. he is saying that if it was the other way around, he being hurt in the seventh instead of thurman, the same referee probably would've stopped the fight.

What a sore loser. If the ref stopped it then the better man would have been robbed of a victory, as we all saw him recover and continue to whoop your ass just fine.

Source g****s because he didn't have the power to knock him out, no use looking to the ref to save you and hand you an undeserved victory.

who knows guess it depends on ones perspective if there was favouritism from the referee or not for this fight on thurmans behalf, lopez feels he was cheated off that stoppage but others say he could not finish the job and get the victory. Thurman was man enough to admit he was close to going out, who knows that fight will wake him up on which things he could work on or improve for future fights maybe even a lopez rematch down the line?
