Comments Thread For: Arum: Crawford vs. Spence is Big Enough For Co-PPV Event

New York - While the options were limited for pound for pound star Terence Crawford within his own promotional circle, his handlers knew it was going to take some creative angles to get him the marquee fights. Enter Amir Khan (33-4, 20 KO's). Khan was mulling offers between fighting Crawford (34-0, 25 KO's) and Kell Brook - but essentially a fight for his legacy was too much to pass up.

Other Side Of The Street Jr. doesn't want that fight he would rather fight smurfs and try to chase fighters afraid of him(Porter, Thurman, D.Garcia). Khan and Jacobs are the only fighters affiliated with Haymon that chose to control their own career. When Haymon pulled his fighters from HBO Jacobs kept fighting on there and was rewarded with good money and the Golovkin fight. Now he is getting the Alvarez fight working with Golden Boy and DAZN.

The numbers UFC just put up after week one on the ESPN are substantial. Top Rank will have to make some serious moves to compete and remain a priority for that network.

This statement doesn't surprise me one bit. He can't go around talking about 500k PPV buys anymore. He has to make something happen fast for the business to have a viable future. Things are only going to get tighter from here. PBC is starting this revamp off very strong. With FOX all in, it's hard to see any if their fighters fighting outside of that ecosystem.

The only exceptions would be Browne, Charlo (160), and Wilder. Not seeing many others who would need to consider venturing out for a fight.

Khan isn't a Haymon fighter. He's more like Cotto in his post-TR days. He just takes the money where it is.

Jacobs didn't have a choice. Canelo is the money pot at 160. Charlo will have to do the same, if he ever gets the opportunity. Btw, Haymon has sent many fighters out to fight on other platforms.

Prograis, Alvarez, Commey, etc. are all Haymon affiliated guys. They all are fighting outside of the PBC ecosystem now (or soon). Haymon does what's best for the fighters. He always has.

Let's be honest. Both Spence and Crawford have said similar things about fighting each other. Both will do it, but know it will get bigger if they wait a year. Notice that Arum talks big, but didn't offer Spence the fight when Spence was looking, and vice versa. Arum offered Khan, Collazo, and D. Garcia the fight, and M. Garcia called Spence out.

No it’s not big enough for a co ppv.
              It’s barely a ppv.

Of course. As funny as it may sound to some, I think Garcia/Spence will be a closer fight than Crawford/Khan.

Khan knows how to lose, and has many holes in his game. Mikey Garcia doesn't know how to lose and his game is solid. Many thought Roberto Duran would get throttled when he bumped up to fight SRL. Similar size difference.

If TR's Eastern European fighters are better than DSG, Porter, or Thurman, why make offers to Collazo and DSG? Why offer DSG $2 million dollars less than Khan? DSG did beat Khan by KO! Is Crawford vs. Khan a "joint" PPV?

Bes***** is ranked #1 by the WBA, and Kavaliauskas is ranked #1 by the WBO. Line them up, and make the fights! I'm sure Crawford would be thrilled to fight them! Lol! Why not make an offer to Pacquiao?
