Comments Thread For: Arum: Crawford vs. Spence is Big Enough For Co-PPV Event

It absolutely is not big enough for Co-PPV promotion. Let's first see what kind of numbers the two do in the upcoming months. You aren't doing a Co-PPV unless we are talking million buys or something close to it. These two aren't close to getting to that number.Comment

300k buys at $70 is more revenue than 600k buys at $30Comment

I was referring to # of buys which we all know everyone will be debating/comparing/arguing about after its over. Fact is Spence/PBC will be "A" side vs crawford as by that time the PBC winner will have 3 belts to oneComment

Revenue is what they'll look at. It has to be able to generate enough revenue. The fight is not big enough for a co-ppv.Comment

Not even close. Funny thing is Arum actually needs Spence to beat Garcia, then Manny for that fight to be realistic. Otherwise, I think Spence moves up in 2020 for a likely fight with Hurd (unless Charlo shocks).Comment

He's just talking because he knows his company is at a crossroads. UFC has caused all sorts of concerns. He has to make something happen now or things will get weird. Loma has already started talking about Europe and for good reason. He's barely selling 10k tickets here and would pull 20k+ plus in the UK. Meanwhile Bid is in purgatory.

Arum was talking Spence/Craword on Co-PPV even before UFC launched their first show on ESPN. I really don't know what they do with Crawford next. Possibly throw even more money to DSG? If you make say Spence/Pac next and Thurman/Porter, maybe TR can throw 5M at DSG for a Crawford showdown? Though Al will likely want DSG to get a title shot against the winner of the two fights I listed.
I don't know, but going to be interesting to see how this unfolds. I do think Spence will eventually force the Crawford fight one way or another before he moves up to 154.Comment
