well on boxrec it shows canelo vs some guy named liam smith and canelo vs amir khan(this fight is ok since khan is the greatest of all time) these fights made 5 times less money than the ggg fight who was the guy he was mandated to fight and refused. what do you call fighting lesser fighters for less money?

And no, the Pacquiao win isn't that great considering the KO. That has nothing to do with the points I brought up about Canelo. It isn't always the name you beat but how and when you beat them. You don't see people jumping up for joy about Khan's win over Barrera do you?

This ^. Dude's been groomed for the top and presented with far more opportunities than many fighters get, but you can't fault a guy for that, or for taking advantage of his status to tip things in his favour. In the end the guy fought most of the opponents he had to, and could certainly have taken a far easier route.

Not only that but he made concessions to get those fights done. He accepted a lowball under 10M payday vs Floyd despite his large fanbase and the fight doing massive numbers. Took high risk low reward fights against Trout and Lara. Gave Cotto the larger split and GGG a co-A side split in the rematch despite being the main draw in both.

To put things into perspective, GGG passed on a legacy defining fight with Ward when he was claiming he was being avoided, passed on Lara because his team didn't like his style and claimed he wasn't a draw (even though he wasn't much of a draw himself). Had rejected a then career high 15M guarantee against Canelo in early negotiations when his best win was Lemieux, was ready to price himself out of a huge payday for the rematch but GB salvaged it in the last hour, and let another huge payday for the rubber match pass him by.

Haters gonna hate but know canelo is the truth.

They will come and say some derogatory things to either insult him or you but they cant deny the fact that Canelo is the truth!

They were better than most of GGG rivals in all his career

They were very good rivals to a young champion of 21 years old

Ok, so all the fighters that won a fight against Durán did not had merit because Durán was K.Oed brutally by Hearns.

                  Hmmmmm

Why am I having to explain to a so called boxing fan it isn't just about the name but when you beat them? Funny how you still haven't refuted what I actually said about Canelo, you know, the guy who this thread is about. Stop talking to me about other fools and address what I actually said. If not, kick rocks.
