A reminder. Canelo Alvarez has always challenged himself throughout his career.

Canelo was set to face Paul Williams September 15th 2012. Williams unfortunately was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident. A fight with Victor Ortiz would then be set, however Ortiz would have his jaw broken by Josesito Lopez, who would become the opponent. Canelo then faced two slick boxers back to back in Austin Trout and Floyd Mayweather. He faced Erislandy Lara and Miguel Cotto eventually. Gennady Golovkin twice. Now he is facing Danny Jacobs arguably the 2nd best Middleweight in the world.

Since Trout he stepped it up. I really wanted to see him agains Williams, didn't care too much for Ortiz

So brave to take the risk of fighting a blown up welterweight at 154.

Very true. Canelo fights anybody, he is chasing greatness.

He has already fought several fighters that he didnt have to and nobody can dispute that.

I hear people knocking on him for making GG wait but that aint ducking imo. It’s called strategic move.

I wouldn't mention the Paul Williams thing as he had already been beaten by Erislandy Lara by that point and brutally knocked out by Martinez. A fight with Victor Ortiz isn't really stepping up either or making Lopez come up in weight for a fight. When he fought Trout is when he began to step it up

Problem with Canelo is he's either loses or fails to win decisively whenever he steps up.

He fought the mighty Amir Khan and the indestructible Chavez jr. Along with British legends whose names I can't remember.
                  Canelo is goat.
