Danny Jacobs to Make $15 Million vs Canelo

Actually it does make some sense. They weren't able to get Haymon's guys and at that time didn't have Canelo. Well, are you signing Canelo to this big deal and having him just fight no hopers the duration of his deal? You have to over pay for his opponents and they couldn't afford to lose Jacobas.I dont believe this offer or deal one bit. If they were willing to pay this much h fpr Jacobs how come they couldn't get Pacquiao or any other haymon fighter. This sounds like a pressure release to lure ggg to the platform. In reality Jacobs name doesn't justify making that much money. 15 million for one fight yeah right they even signed canelo for 5 years so he couldn't make that amount and bounce.
And just wait if they sign GGG and we hear the details of that deal.Comment

I have seen nothing indicating GGG made more than that for the rematch. They both had only a 5 mil guarantee and the PPV did less than the 1st fight. My guess is that GGG made about 10 mil based on having the 45% share of the PPV revenue.Well, GGG definitely made more than that in the rematch.
But it's a great deal for Jacobs.
This is why I'm curious to see what GGG is being offered over there. If Haymon is offering him $10 million for a tune up, surely DAZN matched and surpassed that when they met last week.
GGG vs Canelo they will have to pay like 55-60M for that fight. That's unreal right there.Comment

It's simple math. It did less buys with a higher price point and he got a much better split this time around.
$24 million live gate
1,100,000 * 85 = 93,500,000/2 = 46,750,000
So just got the live gate and PPV revenue, the fight generated over 70M. Then you have international revenue plus sponsorship money. And HBO took their cut, but between the two fighters, they got to split around $75-80 million. Of course he made over 15M lol.Comment

You dont really believe both fighters split 75-80 million do you? GB has to recoup all the money they spent on the promotion and take their cut. It's not cheap to fly around to promote a big fight. It's simple math. It did less buys with a higher price point and he got a much better split this time around.

I think you're just confused about boxing PPV economics. The fighters don't earn anything until the fight becomes profitable. My guess is that the fight wasn't even a profit until they sold 500k-600k PPV's and it sold 1.1 total. that means GGG and Canelo didn't split as much revenue as you're thinking. Go read up about it.It's simple math. It did less buys with a higher price point and he got a much better split this time around.
