If it was mandated, it’s okay. If it was a Canelo request, it leaves a bad taste like when Mayweather stopped Maidana from wearing punchers gloves or Pacquiao making Cotto weigh in at 145lbs

you said is strictly a canelo demand... is not, is a wbc rule too, canelos team is making sure both fighters fight under the same circumstances..

it is what it is. Canelo imposed weight restrictions on Fielding and now on Jacobs.

Canelo will not be facing the same Jacobs that Golovkin did

How can it be cheating when he is going to his usual fight night weight from 160 weigh-in whether he has a 10lb limit many hours before the fight ort not doesnt change his fight night weight, just the same as Canelo who goes up to 173-5, the 10lb bs is just some weird idea to sound like they doing something.

If they want a rehydration clause make it a set weight on fight night.

Junior, not your fault you were born a plodder. Blame parents!
No everything I said in this article is true. The weight limit is in their contract. Its not only mandated by the WBC. Even if the WBC did not impose this both groups agreed to the contract. I would appreciate a link indicating that the WBC restrictions are in place at the time the contract was agreed to. I've seen articles saying the WBC is going to impose this restriction but none saying when it comes it effect.

If the WBC restrictions were in place when the contract was negotiated I'd say yes your are right. Honestly I forgot that the WBC has changed their rules. I know they proposed changes but unclear when.
