Yea the draining gossip is BS, Jacobs did this his last fight to win the IBF, Not a big fan of Canelo, but looking at the GGG/Jacobs situation, i understand that he wanted to make sure he wasn't the only one making the 10 pound limit
I'm seeing excuses about Canelo weight draining Jacobs. LMAO

Yes, that is pretty laughable because Jacobs is allowed to weigh up to 170 on the morning of the fight. He can put on about 5 more pounds between the morning weigh in and the fight that night. That would mean Jacobs would enter the ring weighing 175 or close to it. How in the hell could a 175 pound middleweight be a weight drained middleweight? The rules are the same for both boxers. It's a fair fight.Comment

Bunch of lies in this thread, like usual.
The WBC has the goal to change certain weight rules starting in 2019, thats their plan, there is no official ruling by the WBC yet, otherwise both Canelo and Jacobs would have had to reveal their weight when signing the bout etc.
Also the new WBC ruling doesnt say a fighter isnt allowed to put on 10lb max overnight, the ruling says 10%, so Jacobs could put on 16lb and weigh in at 176 in the morning of the fight."One of the top priorities of the WBC for 2019 will be the introduction of the new weight management program, which is intended to protect the health of the fighters above everything," Sulaiman said. "We will need the collaboration from promoters, matchmakers, managers, trainers, boxing commissions, boxing federations, press, and of course, the fighters themselves."
Even if the new WBC rules were intact, they would have allowed Jacobs to weigh in 176 in the morning of the fight, not 170 what Team Canelo demanded.According to the new rules, the promoter must arrange with the local athletic commission and WBC supervisor to have a scale ready at the site of the bout in order to have both boxers weighed upon arrival on the day of the fight, and boxers must not have gained more than 10 percent of the weight from the official weigh-in the previous day.
Jacobs was 180-185 according to Conte who trained Jacobs for the GGG fight and now people claim Jacobs wont be drained when he weighs in at 170? Wow, NSB at its best again. Half truths and half brains.Comment

Jacobs can gain a full 10 pounds for the morning weigh in and he still has 10 to 12 hours to put on even more weight by fight time. If poor starving Jacobs still isn't up to full strength then he should move up to 168.Comment

Thats not how it works, you rehydrate basically fully overnight, starting after the weigh in and the body is mostly done rehydrating in the morning of the fight, you might gain a couple more lb, but thats it. Thats why Jacobs dropped the IBF weigh in and said goodby to a major world title belt to have that massive advantage.
Jacobs was 176 in the morning and 180 in the ring vs GGG according to Conte. 16lb overnight and only 4lb from morning to the actual fight: https://www.boxingnewsresults.com/20...jacobs-weight/
Jacobs has to be extremely careful to only gain max 10lb overnight since he is such a huge middleweight.
Theres a reason Team Canelo put that into the contract, they saw how big Jacobs was vs GGG and they dont want to face that version of Jacobs.
You people claiming it means nothing is just weird.Comment

--- Where is the contract?
