None of us know what Ward was specifically looking at. We know from experience, that Ward fought quality guys in the past. And that idiots like to cast aspersions on every fighter who is beaten... for example, Ward beats Dawson and suddenly Dawson was drained, Ward wins the Middle Weight, beats the best in the division and he is a dirty fighter, Ward beats Kovalev and it is a bad decision.

So here you are Telling me that Ward tries to find the short end of the stick for his opposition...Your excuse is that he was trying to avoid Kovalev but had to fight him....

Well Dawson was drained according to Scully. That's why they wanted it above 168. Chad's fault, sure but he undoubtedly looked like ****. Ward has fought quality guys because of the tournament. I wish more divisions had tournaments so we can figure out who the best is. Props on him for winning. Nobody can take that away. But look who has opponents have been/tried to be when he's free to choose. I never said he was avoiding Kov. They were more than likely going to fight. It does look bad tho when your network has to push it because you're trying to pick such horrible opponents.

Dawson was obviously weight drained. Who are you kidding? I dont go around saying Hoya wasnt drained vs Pacquiao. Stop being a fanboy.

Do you go around and make excuses for every fight won by Pac as a hater? EIther this poster is your alt, or you just jumped into something without understanding the issue, either way...well do I need to spell it out?

Compare who Mayweather has chosen to fight, and when to who and when Ward has chosen to fight. Its like some of the Brits in particular, like to think that they know what a fighter chooses. The fact is Ward has fought more quality guys, at their prime, and often made the victory look easy.

I am not using Chad as absolute, fine he was drained... But stop qualifying Ward on his other fights...He decided to take a hard fight with Kovalev, we do not know what went through his process other than the results of that decision which was a match.

By the way...there is a great tape that shows HOW Ward beat Dawson and it shows a lot of skills and particulars. It is on YouTube and i would get it for you but have to cook dinner, maybe later will try to find it.

It would be a farce if Canelo won it.

There have been genuine ATG talents active during this decade. Canelo isn't one of them. If we looked at all of the active fighters this decade, and ranked them on the ATG rankings, Canelo wouldn't be in the top 20 of that list. He might not even be in the top 50.

He's fought some good fighters, and been given some gift decisions. He is very good. He isn't great.

For him to somehow wind up with fighter of the decade type accolades would be the final nail in the credibility of boxing.

I'm addressing the claim that dawson wasnt drained. I used myself as an example that despite being a fan of pacquiao, I dont have to lie. Keep up.

And the context for that claim is the issue, not the claim itself...keep up indeed. Read the exchange. It does not matter for the purposes of our discussion.

And I made the point, which I will simplify for you...that it is easy to explain away every victory, vis a vis defeat, which is what posters like Daggum do with Ward and what a lot of idiots do with a fighter they don't care for.

So one should go by precedent: and Ward has stepped up and not ducked. Its a simple point really.

you can make the argument that floyd mayweather is the fighter of the decade in two decades. in that regard he's in company with ray robinson and muhammad ali only.
