i remember someone here posting that canelo would never fight Jacobs,andrade and charlo,,,one down ,two to go,,,if he does face all three and beat them,i'm sure that person will still have excuses as to why canelo isn't any good,,,even thought he would have faced the guys he said he would not,,,and all three are young good fighters,,,skills,power,etc....I'm glad he chose Jacobs over lemiuex,,,Jacobs even though he lost to ggg,is still a good fighter and I'm sure he'll be well prepared for this fight

Jermall Charlo is either fighting Alvarez in September (even if he goes to DAZN for the one-off fight, that 70/30 sword of Damocles will likely put his pay on the fight at about $15m), or he'll be fighting as WBC champion by Summer 2019.

Daniel Jacobs is all of 31 years of age, likely 32 when the three-fight deal is up, lol. Very few fighters retire at 32 while still having ability, nevermind stay stuck somewhere without viable fights when they have options.

Think for a moment.

Scenario #1; Jacobs fights and beats Canelo in May, vacates the WBC title to fight Canelo again in September, and then fights Andrade to add the WBO belt to his IBF and WBA.

Logic tells you that 1) Jacobs will look for the biggest fight that he could get and 2) DAZN is not going to give him a guaranteed deal anywhere near what Canelo got.

WBC 160lb champ Jermall Charlo, Billy Joe Saunders, and possibly undisputed 154lb champion Jarrett Hurd moving up are options for him outside of DAZN, and you may even add Golovkin to that mix too.

If Hearn can deliver something like a 6-fight, $100m guaranteed deal after this three-fight deal is up, maybe Jacobs re-signs with him.

Outside of that, Daniel Jacobs would be the WBA/IBF/WBO champion, with the chance to become the undisputed middleweight champion (for as long as he can make the weight alright), with Barclays Center as his home venue, having fought his way back from a near death experience with cancer (who also happens to fight in a technical, but open and aggressive style).

You'd have another potential PPV star to build with! (Wilder is likely set to be a PPV star through the rest of his run, especially if he beats Fury and Joshua to stick up the division, and Errol Spence Jr is in a similar place if he can be WBC/WBA/IBF 147lb champion).

Fox and showtime war chest hasn’t outdone DAZNs yet and if it goes to purse bid (which the WBC won’t want to piss off CAnelo again so is unlikely for a long time) Canelo can just dump his belt and charlo can continue to fight bums like centeno korobov and Heiland. He gets left at the alter again.

Charlo needs to get to DAZN ASAP. Just like Beterbiev dumped Haymon and Alvarez froze Haymon out to get to espn. There’s nothing for Charlo at pbc. Zero. He can wait a year for Hurd but that’s not a ppv fight and doesn’t pay as much as Canelo ggg or Jacobs or Munguía.

Canelo has proven his ability to sell, on his own merit, over a million PPVs with a properly marketed event against a viable opponent. And there have been enough folks in Haymon's orbit to have a great gauge of what the other revenue will look like too.

A full value offer on a Canelo-Charlo PPV event will be put forward, and it'll likely be for north of $50m ($35m to Canelo; $15m to Charlo).

If DAZN wants to put up $55m or $60m, paying Charlo well north of what would be on the bid, to not have ESPN, Fox Sports, or Bleacher Report help them market the fight, simply hoping the web features and social media content will be enough to draw the needed attention to have eyeballs in the US formally sign up and actually see this one, so be it.

Haymon got the fighter he represents more money than what could've been had under PBC, his fighter still has complete freedom and no obligation to anyone else, and someone else held all of the risk on covering the costs of the event.
