My assumption is that Floyd thought he had enough money to be set for life, which was a dumb move considering how he would have had a stronger chance to win fighter of the decade if he was active from 2008-09, which coincidentally happened to be some of Pac's best years. And he would have missed out on some record paydays if he never came back at all.

I highly doubt he retired to duck anyone, even though that was my initial reaction to him retiring.

It is amazing to read some of the stuff like this people write about Margs from this period. They post as if he was a HOF level boxer yet he was just a Top Rank plodder whose best win during the era (when he wasn't cheating) is stalking Floyd at a press conference.

You're confused about that. He was on a radio show. And if he messed up, he had to start all over. On top of that, he's a fighter, not a reader.

You can't speak in front of thousands of people. You can't perform in an athletic even in front of thousands of people. You can't conduct interviews the way he can... Answer questions the way he can.
