So on the GGG/Loeffler thread, wouldn't you then quote the OP and not the one that had nothing to do with Loeffler?

And the Hurd one, I didn't make the thread. I didn't mention anything about ESPN or any network. And you still quoted my post completely irrelevant of that. That's why I was asking if you meant to quote someone else that had mentioned ESPN?

Hurd is lucky that he has a name at all yet. A lot of the guys today are.

And this isn't just me talking hindsight either, I mentioned this MONTHS ago. Broke down pretty much exactly what was going to happen to Hearn back in June. He got a couple of life lines though. Mainly due to HBO going out of business that opened up GBP for DAZN and guys like GGG became free agents. Canelo was THE guy to move the needle for DAZN if there was going to be someone. I mean sure Canelo isn't with Hearn per se, but he is with DAZN and that is the most important thing....Though I guess in another way, GBP coming to DAZN could spill the end for Hearn's US venture unless his stable improves in a big way.
i knew hearn wasnt going to be able to poach als top guys...because the ones al pushes are pretty happy and well compensated

but i dunno if the haney/ennis type of guy is the right approach either....

i think hearn, at least in his own mind at the very least, feels pressure to start producing something now or relatively soon with DAZN....yeah haney and ennis have had some decent exposure already....but take a look at guys like jermall, spence and mikey....spence is like 28 and is just now rounding into a household name....mikey is 30 and is just now reaching the level hes at really...it could really be another 4 years or so before guys like haney and ennis really make a good name for themselves...and by "good name" i mean capable of sustaining viewership

canelo is a pretty rare breed in that he started very early and got a good push early...and had floyd to help him there...i dunno if those guys have that luxury and ability

It's not about those guys being stars, but to start the process of building them RIGHT NOW. And then in a few years they can reach the next level. You have to build a stable of some sort from the ground up, can't just go out and steal one. I like his recent amateur signings or the latest ones, but his earlier round of signings were not going to cut it. There's still a lot of talent available without a big promoter/advisor. Up to Hearn to get it done.

I'm not an expert in the field, but there are ways to block access to internet streams in countries the providers don't want them going to, as I found out recently.

Somebody posted a link to Klowdtv here for US fans to watch the Usyk/Gassiev fight on PPV. It cost less than half the price of a PPV on ITV UK, so I went ahead and payed for it.

I was able to watch anything Klowd were broacasting, and everything seemed ok. But when I logged in on the night of the fight and tried to watch the show, I got an error message instead of a picture.

I emailed their support, but didn't get a response that night, so I ended up paying to watch the fight on ITV. When Klowd got back to me they said the PPV stream was not intended to be accessed in the UK and had never been advertised in the UK, so I wasn't getting a refund.

I did try watching the Klowd stream via a VPN with a US IP address before giving it up, btw, but it didn't work. I have a friend who works in IT and he told me he could probably have got the stream to work for me if I'd asked him in time, so maybe I'll ask him about DAZN and save myself some money in the future.

bro...i totally understand what your logic/concept was.....

what im saying is..how long did it take spence and mikey to become household names? how long did it take a guy like floyd to build his name and get his first ppv

guy like ennis is still out there fighting the washed up mighty mikes of the world.....it could take another 4-5 years to build an ennis or a haney into a spence/charlo/whoever etc......and i dont think eddie feels he has that kind of time to buy by saying "hey im building this haney kid" or "im building this ennis kid...in 4 years were going to have ourselves a spence/crawford if things go right"....

canelo is rare exception of a guy who was a household name at a young age....he got a huge push and had floyd to help catapult him...i dunno if ennis and haney have that luxury......

most guys dont start hitting that household name wheelhouse till 26+....thats a ways away for haney and ennis and i dont know if hearn feels he has the time for that....he needs results sooner

Then Turd paid the WBA to not make him fight Lara ever again, invented some injury, and fought a cab driver. Everyone and their mother wants to see more of Lara-Hurd. Except for Turd. He is running away, scared to death, of a senior citizen half his size, who stands and trades power shots.

Harrison is a bum. Almost everyone had Lara beating Turd and everyone did have Jermell beating Harrison. The only reason that Jermell was robbed, was to protect Turd.

With Jermell getting robbed, there is no fight even close to as good as Lara for Turd.

Hurd has some very good reasons to stay with Al. First, his gift decision against Lara. Second, having the WBA officially order a rematch, but to then go back on that order without ever mentioning it. Third, the robbery of Jermell. Fourth, he gets to fight cab drivers. In fact, his last opponent got fired from his job as a taxi driver, and now drives for Uber. True story. Look it up.

To becoming a star or a household name also depends on who you are fighting. Let's say if Ennis can win a title in I don't know, mid 2020 against Porter. And then he gets say Crawford or whoever and unifies. Don't you think his profile will rise?

I'm not talking about these guys becoming Canelo level. That's an anomaly. But if you have this big long term contract and there isn't an out in two years, then what is the worry? Build these youngsters and eventually they will become stars.

Going after the Garcia's and the Charlo's of the world is fine, but he didn't have a Plan B. He kept saying I am close to signing this fighter or that fighter or expect three world champions signed next week etc. Ended up making a fool of himself.
